OK, I'll type it. The drive-by media just saved the Republican Party from a bitter fight. Race should never dominate any discussions concerning a presidential nominee, be they Republican or democrap. hermain cain was in way over his head/pay grade. I like the guy but no amount of appointees could make this guy intelligent enough to run this country. It would be obummer 2.0, but with a Repub twist. No thanks I'll pass.

Perry is the only hope I see right now and that could be a case of mistaken identity. Mistaken for someone that really cares about this Country and has the wherewithal (conviction and intelligence) to do something about it.

Perry is still the one that is 100% pro gun. 100% pro life, Christian. No accusations of sexual trysts. Many let the media distort the facts about him so they could bash him.Or read into his comments what they wanted to hear,so they could bash him. I have no doubt that Herman Cain would have a made a decent president as well. However, that is not to be, so folks need to regroup and get behind whoever they feel is the best choice now. The main objective being to BEAT OBAMA.

Yep. And Mitt is probably tempted to take up drinking heavily, as his shot at the Presidency just vanished (Thank God!)

Your first paragraph was spot on.

Your second paragraph just proved that your first paragraph was a lucky shot.

Perry is the only hope I see right now

When Sarah announced she wasn't running, Cain's numbers shot up, because her supporters chose him as the next best alternative.

They didn't flock to Perrry, whose numbers actually softened during the same period. Now that Cain is out, those who are looking for an outsider to carry forward, aren't likely to choose Perry for the same reasons they didn't flock to him before.

From what I see, it'll take a miracle for Perry to regain what he's lost in the race. He hasn't closed the sale with enough voters to really be a contender, and I highly doubt that he can build the sort of following necessary for him to clinch the nomination.
