Even Romney is not attacked with the vehemence that some people show to him.

I've noticed that too.

If Perry should get in this country would change greatly for the better.

Perry wants illegals to stay in Texas and get subsidized college tuition.

No he doesn't.

Trying to talk sense to Not is futile.

I’ve both praised and criticized Newt here. He has his good points.

It’s just than before we jump totally on the Newt bandwagon I think we should remember his negatives so that we won’t be disappointed once again.

He insinuates that Perry was pro abortion at one time because he was a blue dog democrat and then says that Newt is a saint for voting for Reagans ideas.
Reagan who used to have a D beside his name and NEWT who is openly for Amnesty now.

No offense to Reagan.

I don't hate Newt. I think he's been great in the debates. I have no intention of running him down & will happily support him if he is the nominee.

Because of both their histories, though, I think Perry will be the better candidate and president.

Yes he does.

Texas already subsidizes them.

I'm an American citizen, and I can't get subsidized college tuition in Texas.

All the proponents of educating illegal alien criminal invading colonists don't want them to go back to Mexico, they want them to use their education here.

They should use their education to go back to their own country and fight the corruption, instead of bringing it here.

I am probably late to the party on this one but something just occurred to me about one of Newts abilities. That is to project your thoughts and ideas directly to the people in such a way that they can understand them. I think this is a necessary asset for a President to be able to bypass the media and speak directly to the people. Ronald Reagan had that asset and used it effectively. President Bush may have had it but rarely used it for what ever reason. I don’t think Newt will be shy about using it.

I don’t know that Perry would be the better candidate, but I do know that he would be the better president.

I wish he had a silver tongue, but he does not.
That is about all anyone can really fault Perry for.

Sure.
Maybe you could discuss your theory that the Governor or any government should not be “enabling” people to live in the “land of the free and the home of the brave.”

That’s the problem with any true freedom (religious or any other): some people will use their God-given free will to choose the wrong path.

I lose track of days and dates.

Has Gingrich already met with Trump? I thought their meeting was scheduled for Monday.

All the candidates want Trump’s endorsement and his money backers. Can’t say that I blame them, but I have to wonder aside from the money ....lol.

It has been a frustrating election cycle...no doubt about it. But in that it ‘forced’ me to really look at where our country is....how secure it is or not....what's it's condition and how seen by foreign leaders....and to be sure economics of. I quite looking at what Obama was and is doing....rather what the ‘results’ have been and what will it take to both stop where we're headed and turn it around.

That in itself immediately eliminated the idea of who I “liked”....the social issues fell to the side as secondary to our nations safety. So yes our candidate must have an understanding of the international “climate”...and I don't’ mean the weather. He or she must have a pulse on that as nations are aligning themsleves at a rapid pace because they can...Obama sure isn't going to object and they see no threat from here. Russia, Iran and N. Korea are on the move big-time...and they have no fear of US intervention in anything they do. That's dangerous for us.

Not to mention the threats in our own country,,,,,again who can stand up and fight that....”effectively”....with more than lip service. It's not just a border issue....it's a national threat issue.

Who can go to Washington and identify those within our very administration out to harm this nation....while they wear a mask of devotion to our countries welfare? and I;m not just talking the Obama administration....but those on both sides of the aisle who are not taking our country interests over their own.

So with all that and researching all candidates...only one stands high above the rest...and that's just plain Newt...none can accomplish or put muscle into the congress to act...and none but Newt knows what and how to do it. His record of achievements for conservatism is higher than most any other....no lip service there...he accomplished great things for us.....so it boiled down more than favorably for me that Newt's the man for the job.

No, it was the other Mormon who chickened out. This is the second debate-type event he’s turned up his nose at. Not that anyone cares.
