In recent days, there has been a truly frightening articulation of the US administrations perception of Israel vis-à-vis the Muslim world. On Friday, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta essentially blamed Israel for its own increasing isolation, urging the Jewish state to reach out to its neighbors.
He suggested that Israel make diplomatic inroads with the Muslim Brotherhoods Egypt, Recep Tayyip Erdogans increasingly Islamist and anti-Israel Turkey, and vulnerable Jordan, a country whose leadership for the sake of self-preservation has been making concessions to its own Muslim Brotherhood.
And when asked at the end of his speech at the Brookings Institution in Washington what operative steps Israel could make to advance negotiations with the Palestinians, Panetta said: Just get to the damn table.
In other words, the clearly exasperated Panetta believes that if only stubborn Israel would make more concessions to the Palestinians, regional animosity toward Israel would miraculously evaporate after decades of incitement.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I used to think these Leftists were too stupid to understand Israel’s plight. No, they understand it fully. They just wish to make things ten times worse.
Rush used to talk about the value of negotiating with your enemy. If your enemy is not reasoned, the only person that can be hurt be negotiating, is yourself. The only person that will benefit is your enemy.
If Israel does sit down, it has nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Israel’s enemies have never conceded anything. They still demand Israel’s destruction. That being the case, Peanutta, is an ass-hat anti-Semite enemy of Israel.
The last thing the USA needs is to fight a war on behalf of Israel. If Israel wants to attack someone, fine, they should be on their own.
It’s more likely that Israel will be attacked.
I do hope Israel will resist the bogus & self serving proposals of the Obama Admin.
I’m always reminded of Kyle Reese’s line in The Terminator: “It can’t be bargained with, it can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop ever...until you are dead!”
The only long term solution: Muslims have to abandon the death-cult of a political system they call a religion. Until then, we have to support Israel for they are the vanguard in a battle of civilizations that has been raging for 1400 years.
I doubt Iran would directly attack Israel. Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons and they don’t want to be incinerated.
The US left are in a panic mode right now, because a Likud MK has proposed a bill that would prohibit foreign contributions in excess of 20,000 shekels to NGOs engaged in political activities in Israel.
Both the European socialist parties and the US Democrats have been pouring money into Israel to essentially politically overthrow the government, wanting them replaced with the Israel Labour party.
The Democrats have gone so far as to send Stanley Greenberg, of the Greenberg, (James) Carville, and (Bob) Shrum political strategy company to foment large public demonstrations in Israel, involving hundreds of thousands of people.

Unfortunately I think you could not be more wrong. Part of Ahmadinejad's plan is the martyrdom of Iran in exchange for the eradication of Israel, and paving the way for the 12th Imam to appear and establish the new global caliphate. Your instinct is good, from a western-values perspective, but we are not dealing with anything of the sort.
What if they are being attacked? Should we watch?
Do you think Israel attacking Iran’s nuclear production facilities would only benefit Israel?
I agree.
The US has NEVER fought a war on behalf of Israel. We have supported them, but never put troops on the ground or in the air. Israel would probably never accept foreign troops on her soil. However, your statement seems to be anti-Israel. How could you turn your back on our only friend in the Middle East—the only democratic nation in the region, surrounded by inept, hate-filled (of both Israel and the US), theiving, and corrupt nations in the world, demonized by a religion that seeks to destroy all other religions in the world.
I used to think like you did about. Israel, then I did more homework. Now I think we should end all, yes all foreign aid.
