Red dwarf stars are believed to be good places to look for life but it would probably be unlike earth. Red dwarf stars are long lasting but cool and a habitable planet would have to orbit so close as to be tidally locked.

I might be willing to move there, but first I need to know how the fishin’ is.
That’s a heck of a commute. I would hate to go all that way just to find that Romney and Reid are already there and that...... they were Gods.

Everyone on this thread is overlooking the very scary prospect that if Kepler-22b's were to come here they would all have the same powers as Superman. And some of them might not be as altruistic as him.

I dont want to find intelligent life. We need life we can eat like planet of the cows or something. What's wrong with the cows we have here? I find them to be quite tasty, in addition to being readily available.

Well, the moon is said to be made of cheese!
(But then, they say the moon landing, from which this pic came, was faked on a Burbank sound stage.)

You need more than just water. You need a rotating molten core (to provide magnetic fields), a moon to create tides (to keep the sea from becoming stagnant), large outer planets to capture rogue asterorids/bodies which might otherwise reach your “earth”, an atmosphere to shield you from various solar rays, etc.
The whole system is a lot more complex than just having a warm planet and water.

Why do you need a magnetic field? (Tie-in to the liquid water temperature range question, it’s more subtle than it looks)...
