Romney Calls on Gingrich to Return Freddie Mac Money
The Corner ^ | 12/12/2011 | Katrina Trinko

Asked this morning if Newt Gingrich “should give that [Freddie Mac] money back,” on Fox and Friends, Mitt Romney said he thought Gingrich should.

“I sure do,” Romney responded. “He was on a debate saying that politicians who took money from Freddie and Fannie should go to jail, which is outrageous in itself. But, look, he says he was in the consulting business. That’s very different than the consulting business other people have been in. He was in the business of connecting folks with government. He was on K street. … It’s very different than the private sector.”

Romney appears to be referring to these remarks Gingrich made in the October Bloomberg/Washington Post debate:

National Review has become the equivalent of the mainstream media in its pimping of Romney. I can’t stand to read any of NR’s authors anymore. You can almost see the dollar signs floating in the air before their eyes from Romney’s bankroll.

Just shows Romney has the wrong first impulse. The response should have been, “that's water under the bridge, there should be no Fannie and Freddie to hire Newt for advice to begin with”. Romney is supposedly an expert at liquidating under performing organizations. The fact that he fails to see the root of the problem demonstrates that he is not the man for the job.

Newt’s response to this BS should be highly entertaining.

So basically, Romney is calling for money to be taken from the private sector and given to a government sponsored agency?

Nice.

Coming on the heels of his $10,000 bet offer, Romney seems a little too concerned about Other Peoples Money.

I don’t think he’ll want someone to dig up how many millions in tax credits and other gummint free money gimme programs have benefited him and his businesses.

Trying to match wits with Newt is a fool’s game and Romney just got his second lesson in three days. That boy better learn quickly or he will be the laughing stock of the campaign in very short order (I mean more so than he already is).

It must be desperation. I can only think people are fleeing the other candidates to prevent Romney winning the primary by default. Nobody wants a repeat of McCain.

Why weasel?

Cheated on his wives, yep, he said he has sinned, sought God and has changed.

If you refuse to accept Newt's repentance that's your problem.

God will judge Newt's heart, I'm not pure enough to do that.

The Scumbag Willard should be put through full discovery [e-mails, interrogatories and depositions from him and his immediate cabal of snakes and rats] on every aspect of his campaign of sleaze and defamation against Sarah Palin and her family. After the resultant revelations have become known, The Willard will be invited to accompany Todd Palin on one of his Iron Dog training rides - extreme weather conditions required, of course. Just to check out his character, dontcha know.

Where do we get such scum and how does the Rino wing stand the man's stench? Were he to take the nomination, the mainslime media will lay out chapter and verse of his cowardly vendetta against Sarah Palin and he will lose to the chimpanzee by ten points, on that ground alone.

I’d feel a lot better about Mr. Noot if he quit giving global warming credence....he still believes there’s two sides to the argument...and the fannie/freddie thing bothers me, but he’s the best left, and he’s better than mclame.

Will Romney and BAIN take back the money from the 911 Victory Mosque?

"(The GroundZero Mosque) cleared its final hurdle ….
developers plan to build the $100 million center which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
.... the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984.

So it’s OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

“Bain Capital, has cut checks totaling $90,000 to Romney’s operation. “

I really don’t think he’s any better than romney. But somehow freepers think one turd has a little bit more sparkle than the other? Oh goodie. I really don’t see why I should pretend to be happy about that. Those giddy cheerleaders that are, are just a bunch of yammering clowns to me. I am disappointed with the way the election is going and I’m even more disappointed with the way the clowns on FR are reacting to it.

UPDATE: Gingrich addressed Romney’s remark in a press availability this morning, saying, per Time’s Mark Halperin, that ”If Gov. Romney would like to give back all the money he’s earned from bankrupting companies and laying off employees over his years at Bain, then I would be glad to then listen to him.”

“And I will bet you $10, not $10,000, that he won’t take the offer,” Gingrich added.

lmao...The Primary is over. Gingrich will destroy Obama in the Debates.
