Anything taken out of context will look very different than if you could see the actual intent of the statement. Not saying Newt is any Ronald Reagan, but Reagan could equally be taken out of context in a series of video compilations and be made to appear questionable.

Out of context snippets are not an honest tactic.

Wondering if Andrew was giving us a bit of rope-a-dope yeaterday when he slammed Beck.

Newt did say that FDR was his “favorite” President and that he was taking a “lot of heat from the Right” on his views on FDR. Newt is always positioning himself in the middle when he sees it is to his advantage depending on the audience. When he criticized the Ryan plan on Medicare, he equated “right wing social engineering” with “left wing social engineering” as though there was a moral equivalency or that there was such as thing as “right wing social engineering.”
