Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich now trails President Obama by double digits, his second straight weekly decline since becoming the GOP frontrunner. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters finds Obama earning 49% of the vote, while Gingrich receives 39% support.

Not a Newt fan,but man is this discouraging. The fact that Comrade Zero could poll almost 50% against anything up to and including a cockroach makes me wonder what the hell has happened to this country.

I’m a woman and I will vote for Gingrich, and I am working very hard for him. Most men are sleazebags, in one way or another. I love them all dearly, but that’s the truth (to me).

I detest Obama. Cannot stand him.

But I feel Newt would be a total disaster as well.

I would rather a Liberal Democrat take credit for creating a total disaster of our country than a Republican.

We are not all so lucky as to be brought up in a household where Bill Buckley's "Firing Line" was routinely watched, both parents were solid conservatives with college educations, and National Review was on the coffee table.

I once mentioned the old saw about "If you are not a liberal when you are young, you have no heart and if you are not a conservative when you grow up, you have no brain," to my mother (I was about 27 at the time and a full blown Reagan campaigner). Her reply was "You never had a chance." LOL!

I was arguing with liberals in my freshman year in high school; haven't ever stopped.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, you were adult enough to realize your mistake and correct it. There are many liberals who simply refuse to admit their mistake. Denial and ego are very powerful forces in folks lives.

The polls here in OHio have Obama winning if Mitt is the candidate I believe Newt polls much better here than he does.
