Across the Washington area, black students are suspended and expelled two to five times as often as white students, creating disparities in discipline that experts say reflect a growing national problem.
An analysis by The Washington Post shows the phenomenon both in the suburbs and in the city, from the far reaches of Southern Maryland to the subdivisions of Fairfax, Prince George’s and Montgomery counties.

Last year, for example, one in seven black students in St. Mary’s County were suspended from school, compared with one in 20 white students. In Alexandria, black students were nearly six times as likely to be suspended as their white peers.
In Fairfax, where the suicide in January of a white high school football player who had been suspended brought an outcry for change, African American students were four times as likely that year to be suspended as white students, and Hispanic students were twice as likely.
The problems extend beyond the Washington area to school districts across the country and are among a host of concerns about school discipline that sparked a joint effort by the U.S. Justice and Education departments in July to look into reforms.
Experts say disparities appear to have complex causes. A disproportionate number of black students live below the poverty line or with a single parent, factors that affect disciplinary patterns. But experts say those factors do not fully explain racial differences in suspensions. Other contributing factors could include unintended bias, unequal access to highly effective teachers and differences in school leadership styles.

The overarching theme of popular black culture is degradation. It’s a modern slavery of the soul. You’d be hard pressed to find black media themes that uplift.
Here is a good way to look at this.
Black Conservatives are Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Herman Cain.
Black Liberals are Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters.
The group of students that want to be the former, whether black or white are probably the ones who are going to stay out of trouble.
But then Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be out of a job.
Trouble is the goal. Blacks are raised to disregard the laws and morals of non Africans. Those who resist the trend to return to tribal African culture are segregated and denigrated from urban black society.

I believe you are correct. There’s nothing true, or insightful, or even honest in this reporting. It’s all garbage, meant to stir up racial strife.
But I’m glad the DOE and the Just Us Dep’t *experts* are busy looking for solutions, aren’t you?
They are like doctors, examining a patient with a knife in his back, spending all their time wondering where the knife came from.
While sending their nurses screaming for more entitlement daddy-money to make more knives so they can study blades more thoroughly.

You might consider that you’re posting to a public board. For my children’s benefit I try to get them to read FR. It’s rare that kids get the conservative side of the media and the comments for the most part are illuminating.
I don’t wish to intrude on your liberty to use vulgarity, but that then limits the liberty of others to read thoughtful and not vulgar comments.
Vulgarity is common enough, but it’s common because it is cheap and the language of the illiterate. A literate person, such as you, has a vocabulary sufficient to express any emotion without resorting to vulgarity.
So let me take a stab(pun intended) at why there's a 'punishment disparity'.

This must be part of what they tout as "whites do not understand the Black Culture". That's true, to a large extent, in that 75% of Black children are born "without fathers", and are born regularly to entitle the mother to increased income for per-child entitlement handouts, and are sent to school ONLY because it's required. Then, they grow up in "Da Hood", to learn how to use the system just like their unknown fathers, living a parasitic, non-productive lifestyle, while screaming "Racism" whenever they break the rules and are made to pay the price (which is becoming very, very rare, as Lawsuits make enforcement on Minorities VERY difficult).
As another poster mentions, they are NOT equally doled out punishment, purely because of their race, as whites are REGULARLY disciplined without fear of "Racism", while a lesser percentage of Blacks are punished, due purely to fear of being called "Racist".
Excellent point. Human beings are just things to be acted upon. We’re things that act. We have choice.

And in malls across America blacks are 10 times more likely to riot than whites.

Fact: the father’s role is discipline, not the mom...the symbolic black mom yelling at the child holding her shoe or otherwise which Hollywood has perpetuated is a myth. That’s what it is, not what it’s supposed to be. Tyler Perry has tried to cover this, but still doesn’t even that well.
This is the fact...it’s a shame it has become racist to point this out. I’m white, my wife is black, so sue me.
This is brought up every so often as an example of racism towards blacks, when in fact it only proves that blacks cannot behave themselves.
These same statistics are used as a racial attack against America’s criminal system. Nothing wrong with the system, blacks just commit more crimes,there fore there are more of them in jail.
Remember white kids are not rioting all over the country over a $5.00 pair of Chinese sneakers that sell for $180.00.
The Washington Post’s greatest sacrament — ENDING DISPARITY. It’s just another form of Communism.
Equal Outcomes can never be achieved. But trying to do so creates a huge elite class of know-it-alls who Lord it over everyone else and destroy initiative for the vast majority of people — pushing a whole society into poverty.

One of my classmates came into class one day, obviously high on something. He was grinning like a jackass eating briers.
When the prof. asked if there were any questions, the buzzed classmate asked the professor, “Why don't you ever smile?”
The professor stiffened, & replied, “Get out of my class & don't come back”.
This is the way classes SHOULD be conducted. Those students who are obstructing education should be expelled immediately. Period.
But, I wouldn't want them sent home to watch TV & play video games. I'd make them do cleaning jobs on campus, while reminding them that menial labor is all they can expect w/o an education, so they might as well get used to it.
That is not true. Just as Asians are smarter than whites, whites are smarter than blacks. There are several reasons for this, but it is true.
Could it be that they are insubordinate and cause trouble at 2 to 5 times the rate of whites?
