I think the proper response is not just no but HELL NO!
Coastal liberalism is the result of wealth concentration, not the water. The empirical evidence indicates that rich people, in the coastal cities where they concentrate, impose policies to replace the white middle class with minorities. In other areas, the wealthy are less concentrated and so the effect is less noticable.
CA is a classic when whites are divided into two political groups. When one party loses out on whites, they are willing to make a coalition at all costs to win. Blacks and Hispanics are willing to fill this role, except they demand big gov and big gov programs funded by taxes on the rich white guy. Asians are funny. They tend to lean towards big gov because they believe it is gov responsibility to provide education to all its citizens. All they want is first class universities that have low tuitions so their kids can go to, get good grades, graduate and get high tech high paying jobs. So what CA is bankrupted to provide this benefit. The Asian family simply moves out when everyone in the family finishes college. So who is left holding the bag. Middle class whites who are trapped by not having enough money or underwater home to move out. Eventually CA will implode and guess what their governor and Senators will want a federal bailout. CA represents 1/8 of US GDP and thus will proclaim they are TOO BIG TO FAIL. Banks who hold CA state and muni bonds will proclaim that if CA falls they can also fail and since they are very large, THE BANKERS ARE TOOO BIG TO FAIL!!! Congress will knuckle under and bailout CA. Anyone with a fourth grade education can see how this game will be played by CA and bankers.
Other liberals were calling in saying it's time to bring the National Guard to clean up the gangs.
Maybe things will change there after all. Let's hope.
America does need an EXAMPLE of all the things a State SHOULD NOT DO..

Only hope for my State is for this coming Nov. to produce a smart conservative Gov’t—read Prez Newt, RepublicanHouse and Senate with new leadership. As CA produces nothing politically for the Republicans, Gov’t says to State, you get nada until you clean it up—pensions, unions, taxes, environmentalism. At the same time, break up the 9th Circuit. Once the positive results flow, capitalize on them.
Sure, we’re a “failed” state. Because we’re a formerly American state that has been invaded and annexed by Mexico.
And you know whose fault it is? Yours. Everyone who lives in the other 49 states.
You did nothing while the Southern border was erased and a foreign country simply took one of your biggest, most prosperous states. Without even a shot fired. It’s shameful.

It’s great to visit family members who live out there, but as a viable part of the United States, yes... it’s too late. Growing numbers in CA don’t consider themselves Americans anyway, so for them, it’s quite fine that the state implodes.
Well, there are 103 golf courses within driving distance and today it’s 78 degrees and beautiful. Indian Wells/La Quinta is a great place to live if you don’t have to work. When it gets hot, move to your summer residence in WA state...actually your primary residence so no state income tax is owed on 200k retirement income. Life can still be golden. Gated community with all republicans for neighbors.

Long before Mexicans colonized California, the state was flooded with New England liberals. East Coast liberals rushed California and destroyed it and continue to do so, even as conservatives leave. The Mexican influx is relatively new, just in the past 20 years or so. Our colonization by east coast liberals has gone on for 100 years and is how we got the "children of the sixties" infiltration.

Nancy Pelosi, a liberal Baltimore Democrat.
Barbara Boxer, a liberal from Brooklyn, NY.
You can still today see the liberal influx from New England and the east coast. It continues unabated, and it is how California was destroyed. The New England states colonized us and destroyed us.
East Coast liberals have destroyed California. It wasn't the Okies in '32 or Mexicans in '92 who did this...

Too bad you didn’t have the unique opportunity to grow up here in the 1950’s like I did. At that time California was number one at everything and we had a Republican government. Paraphrasing what Al Pacino said in “The Scent of a Woman,” someone should have taken a flamethrower to UC Berkeley fifty years ago! To my everlasting shame I graduated from that shitthole!
I was born in San Francisco in 1958 and remained in California for life. I’ve seen a lot of Change and it leaves me with no Hope. This state is absolutely nothing like the state that elected Ronald Reagan as Governor. Nothing.
I’m sorry. Truly. California has such beauty and breadth of color. It’s just so sad that it has been micromanaged and corrupted and bilked like the calves that end up being Wagyu.
