But as far as insurance for homosexuals is concerned, I think that could well be taken into account regarding premiums. They do, knowingly, engage in a lifestyle that causes health problems and shorter lifespans.

Gays should be rated, known AIDS patients should be permanently in a high risk pool.

However, then one gets into the issue of other unhealthy behaviors, smoking, being morbidly obese, etc. until you get down to nitpicking my martini.

That's called underwriting and is a free market practice allowed in many states.

Then you’ve stopped preaching and gone to meddling.

Oh, tons of states have done mega-meddling, especially in the Northeastern States...like Mass.

Rush had an interview with Greta recently and inferred that the Establishment doesn’t want Newt and that he is sick and tired of the Establishment trashing Conservatives. Don’t have the link, but it was an interview from last week.

Rush does not “endorse” but he and Levin make it clear who they consider the most conservative in the race.

Like any conservative they have to appreciate the GOOD things Newt did in the PAST.

But that has been as far as it has gone.

Your Texas bias is showing, Altura. To paraphrase El Rushbo; "...when you go to sleep at night, Santorum is one you wouldn't have to worry about ever doing the wrong thing...."

Your guy has some of that cred too, which is why I also like him.

Disagree. All three are very aware of the massive Conservative mandates Gingrich was able to install when he was in Congress.

They also know he is able to handle the press and Congress in order to steer this country in the right direction. No way do they consider Newt and Romney as the same.

For Rush, Romney is more like McCain. Notice Rush never interviewed McCain, he interviewed Sarah Palin during the election. Rush has already had Newt on his show recently.

The marine industry has had such problems with ethanol in the fuel screwing up engine after engine down here we have special 90 octane fuel with no ethanol added. Of course the retailers are not shy about charging for it either.

Of course, this is done all the time with auto insurance, which is a lot easier to codify.

Speeding tickets, accidents, dui’s, all are matters of record and cause higher premiums, sometimes VERY much higher. And I don’t blame the insurance companies for that at all.

Health insurance is a little less cut and dried. How fat is too fat? According to my domestic partner, anything over 115 pounds is too fat. How does anyone know if you smoke only at home. It’s all a little murky.

They’ll have to take my Miller Lite out of my cold dead hands, is all I know.

homosexuals who engage in unprotected anal sex with strangers? ...I know it sounds horribly vulgar, but that is the particular behavior we're talking about. ...It is particularly dangerous given AIDS and other venereal diseases.

Hey, there's a cultural thread among the packers who are proud to have "the bug" and consider it a status symbol. We are supposed to just shut up and subsidize them?

We should be especially offended by this arrogant display of entitlement, and oppose it.

Last election Huckleberry Hound won IA and Romney won NH, how did that turn out? Should we really care who they vote for?

I think regardless of which one we get we are still going to have to let them know about the changes within the Republican party that have and are occurring. We are now a conservative party and rinoism will no longer be tolerated. If we let them all know that and never relent it will and is making a difference.

Just stopped by to wish everyone a happy new year, and also to give you some info I gleaned from Twitter:

1. Iran fired a medium range ballistic missile successfully in the Gulf this morning. (Source, BBC)

2. Matthew Down was on one of the networks this morning and said that “Iowa picks the loser.” Since Dowd supports Romney, I assume the internals aren’t quite as good as the media polls.

3. Slate has an article showing how very unreliable the current polling system is, and how the internal polls of the campaign are much better. Motto: Pay no attention to polls.

4. I expect Perry to do much better than the media is indicating. The CNN correspondent there in Iowa said he has almost 2000 people from Texas who drove up to help, and he has more precinct captains than anyone. Media is ignoring the importance of organization in Iowa. They were supposed to have snow there last night. Weather is going to be a factor.

I am off to a New Year’s Day antique auction. Best wishes to all of you, and may this year see better times for our country!

Well, yeah, I admit to Texas bias.

But Perry has all the conservative virtues and few of the negatives.

For one thing, he’s been a governor for the last thousand years. He’s been attacked by the liberal media in Texas and by the Austin establishment for 999 of those years. They hate him and there’s no liberal media as nasty as the Texas liberal media.

They’ve never been able to ‘get him’ on anything because he hasn’t done anything. They’ve searched his closet for years and only found boots.

Nothing will come out about him to cause someone to lose sleep.

He’s been a politician for years but never a Washington insider.

Well, I could go on but I’d better go on over to a Perry thread or I will be shunned here.

Hope everyone has a great 2012 and that all our dreams come true.

Which, of course, is impossible since we have different dreams.

But we all hope to increase the number of real conservatives and increase our majority in the House.

We all hope to take over the Senate and never see Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi again as long as we live.

And we all hope to defeat Obama and put a conservative in the White House.

So, good luck to us !!!

Gov. Perry looked good.

That said, there is no chance for him
to make a second ‘first opinion’.

You certainly are doing an outstanding job of parroting the anti-Republican spin from the legacy media.

Which is why we need a brokered convention

My greatest apprehension with a brokered convention is that the compromise the Party of Stupid would probably come up with is Jeb Somebody.

And that is a definite boon for Obama.
