ORANGE CITY, Iowa A surging Rick Santorum Sunday afternoon told Iowans here that their children and grandchildren would ask them, "What did you do in 2012 when freedom was at stake?"
That freedom was being endangered, he had stated earlier, by the Obama administration.
He added: "You here in Iowa are the Lexington and Concord. You are the ones who [can] fire the first shot. Do not miss. Do not miss."

This is the second time in two days that Santorum, who appears to have the wind at his back in the final run-in to Tuesday's caucuses, has used unusual language in making his case to Iowan voters.
Late Saturday afternoon, he accused President Obama of engaging in "class warfare, ethnic warfare, whatever you want to call it." He did not go on to specify exactly what he meant by "ethnic warfare."

Well, everyone has been complaining that Santorum shows no spark. I think he just lit a fire.
the MSM can’t help itself. they can’t pass up the horse race aspect of any election. if a candiate wasn’t “surging”, they would still be reporting one.
“oh, look there! he is surging! see the surge! now, buy my newspaper. watch my news show.”
I watched him on Cspan at a campaign stop yesterday. While his opening remarks were a bit lackluster, the question and answer session with attendees was great!

What a fantastically stupid thing to say.
Agreed.
No Santuckabee please.
He did not go on to specify exactly what he meant by “ethnic warfare.”

That’s a nice way of saying “playing the race card”. Not that Obozo would ever do that.

There is something about Santorum that makes me feel uneasy.

I thought it was pretty good. Speaking of stupid.... have you read your tagline recently?
Might have something to do with Santorum being a phony.

I don't know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, We must broaden the base of our partywhen what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.
... Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?
A question I believe a lot of conservatives will be asking after the 2012 elections.
