Drudge only has a headline - the link to a story does not work

If Bachman bows out AND Perry too, I do not see their support going to Romney or Paul- I think Santorum and Gingrich benefit.

I would have said Newt, yesterday- but Santorum gained some momentum.

There are some debates coming up - Newt will rise again because he kills in debates.

Speaking of...

If Romney wins the debates will be nothing but Mindless Pablum fed by meaningless questions from the press

I Paul wins the media debates will feature endless questions about how he thinks we are responsible for 9-11 and if it OK for Iran to get the bomb

If Santorum wins, he will sound whiney and pathetic against obama from equally stupid press questions.

But if Newt wins the media will be frantic over the debates because Newt will destry them AND Obame- in a way that I dont think Santorum has the guts to do.

I would GLADLY pick Santorum over Romney, but I would pay good money to see Gingrich debate the communist muslim Kenyan

Because of their ages I think a Newt/Rick ticket would make more sense. Let Newt have his turn for four or eight then had the baton to Rick for the same. Sixteen years I like.

_____________

I don’t really want to vote for Newt, but I would pay to see Newt tear the Marxist/Muslim a new one.

What worries me about Santorum- is he tough enough to go up against the Marxist/Muslim?

She never had a chance. But she did keep Sarah Palin out. Maybe that was the plan after all.

Will/can Michele endorse Santorum? She beat the crap out of him in the debates.

Good analysis. I too, would pay money to see Newt destroy BO in a debate. Talk about a battle of wits with an unarmed person.....

It’s been clear for weeks that Bachmann wasn’t going to make it to SC, no matter what she said. Perry’s going on to SC was questionable until last night. There might have been a chance for him in IA but for the last days and the Christian Right gravitating to Santorum.

I’d never underestimate Santorum, but even with the support he’ll bring from his IA showing, am not sure he has it to go all the way. I still think after the winnowing out, and heading into SC (just forget NH, from a R perspective, it’s not that important any more), things look up for Newt. I’m anxious to see his SuperPAC take on Romney and how that plays in NH. The next 2 weeks will be interesting.

I agree and Michele should go throw her hat in the MN US Senate Race and take on Amy Klobuchar.

I agree that Newt is very strong in debates and would send Obama home crying like a baby.

However, don’t place too much emphasis on debates. An Obama-Gingrich debate might happen twice, with only 1 out of 13 million likely voters watching. And most of those watching would be those hoping for Newt to destroy Obama. The questions will be biased and designed for “gotcha” traps. The reporting of the debates will be biased, Obamas “uhs” and “ahs” will be edited out of news clips, and the best Newt can hope from the MSM is for the debates to be called a tie.

So, absent some really wild gaffe by Obama (and remember, “57 states” is not wild enough), the debates will not cause many squishy-middle types to decide in favor of Newt.

Obama is not good at facing a challenge and McCain didn’t challenge Obama at all. However, any one of the current GOP candidates WOULD challenge Obama (except for maybe Huntsman) and would do well in a debate.
