When I was a young man growing up, I lived in a country very much like Ron Pauls vision of America. It really wasn’t all that bad having the Constitution as the Supreme law of the land. Plus Micky Mantle was hitting lots of home runs which was very cool too.
Oh good Lord, is this RESULT a story? Santorum had family members who actually think for themselves? GOD FORBID! Granted paulbots aren’t really thinkers, but seriously, this is ridiculous
At this point its anyone but Romney.
After the primary is settled, its anyone but Obama.
NOTHING in America’s history obviates foreign policy intervention when our own best interests are at stake.
If Ron Paul were President in the early 1800’s we wouldn;t have Florida or the Louisiana Purchase. If he were President instead of Polk, the Mexican Border would run from the Mississippi to Oregon State. And if he were President in 1940 we would be speaking German or Japanese
(if we survived).
There is NO QUESTION that the globalist Bush nation-building experiment in Iraq and Afghanistan was a failure. More than that, it destablized pro-western, relatively rational (by Islamic standards) government through out the Middle East and resulted in more virulently anti-western, dangerous Islamic regimes.
But that doesn’t mean we should neglect the need to destroy the nuclear weapon building capacity of rogue nations like Iran, or support our few strong allies like Israel. Or seek allainces with people who help us against the Red Chinese or threats in our own backyard like Hugo Chavez.
I have tried the Constitution and it worked very well. I suggest Ron Paul should read his history more closely.
As for a crusade against Islam - I would love that very much and would like to see it start here in America.
All very true but unfortunately, ignorant as they are, they can still VOTE. We never should have lowered the voting age, other than maybe making an exception for those serving in the military.
Doing so only created a ready-made clueless voting bloc for the libs to manipulate and pander to.
In his insulting remarks about Dr. Paul, Rick Santorum openly attacked Dr. Paul's strong reliance on the Tenth Amendment--the one intended to keep the over-reaching Federal Government out of those things it was never authorized to get into. Whether or not you agree with Dr. Paul or Rick Santorum on any other issue, the lad has made a valid point here. Get off his back if you do not have a valid answer.
Let me suggest something rather important, here, in a practical political quest. One of the things in the Bush Administration that most damaged Republican prospects in 2006 & 2008, was the intrusion into a Florida County Court Case, over Terry Schiavo. This made the Republicans who supported the intrusion, look like fanatics, unwilling to accept the Constitutional separation of powers & functions. The biggest threat that Rick Santorum poses, is that he seems to advocate that sort of intrusion into State & local functions, where his personal values are involved.
If I am wrong about this, please clarify where he has given assurance that he does not believe in this sort of intrusion. Or how he rationalizes his stated disrespect for the Tenth Amendment, in terms of his solemn oath of office. He is no social conservative, if he claims that he is not bound by that sacred oath, to support the intent of the Founding Fathers.
I would like to be able to vote for the Republican nominee, whether Romney, Santorum, Paul, Ryan, Perry or whomever; but Rick frankly frightens me.

Please! The only way we surrender to Muslims (Iranian or any other flavor) is if we let them undermine us from within. And, it appears we are well on our way to doing that.
You are falling for Big Government’s (FEMA, Homeland Security, NDAA, TSA, Patriot Act, etc.) Israel’s, and the media’s duplicity.
Thanks for the Santorum post!
Now that Rick is a frontrunner, is there anything else out there about the Santorum-Garver family?
We get to see pictures of Mitt and Ann, Gingrich and Callista, Rick and Anita Perry and family photos all the time - maybe we can get more info on the the youngest, most exciting potential First Family campaigning now!
Regardless of the outcome of this election, every Thanksgiving that they sit together should be interesting after this last one.
See, it’s statements like your last one on your Post #70, that convinces people that not only Ron Paul, but his supporters, like you, are anti-Semitic.
“After the primary is settled, its anyone but Obama.”
Yep. Even if Romney wins the primary race, I still vote “R” in November. (Just like I did in 2008.)
Right now our defense department is hoping, hoping mind you that we might have enough money to maybe defend the pacific rim. Ground wars are out of the question, there just is not enough money for that. Nor is there enough money to do any more in the middle east, we are getting out of there. So unless you have a spare 16 trillion or so to give to Uncle Sam we are stuck with the fact that we are broke and in debt up to our eyeballs.
What a lying creep. Does young Mr. Garver have an eye for men, by any chance?
This is not a big deal. It is a spoiled brat Nephew. Heck I wouldn’t feel so disgusted over it had he endorsed Perry or Newt, but Paul? Yuk. However, keep in mind it is a nephew. Now if Santorum’s kids start endorsing someone else...I will pay attention. lol.
Two losers, you say? LOL
We are spending less on the military than at any time since the late 1940s. To illustrate this, during the 1980's, when Reagan was rebuilding our forces, we spent on average around 6% of GDP on defense. During the late 1960s and early 1970s (Vietnam war) it averaged about 8.5%. Heck, even during Jimmy Carter's infamous gutting of our forces in the late '70s we still were spending at about the same rate as we are today, roughly 4.2%.
What is bankrupting us is the massive and ever increasing cost of entitlement programs, not our comparatively modest spending on what should be the federal government's primary task - defending the country and its vital interests.
Well, that’s just silly. Not wanting Israel dictate our foreign policy is not being anti-Semitic. Are you including Arabs, as well? They’re also Semitic.
