Todd Palin Endorses Newt Gingrich
ABC News ^ | Jan 9, 2012 | ABC News’ Santina Leuci and Z. Byron Wolf reporting

Posted on 01/09/2012 10:13:50 AM PST by US Navy Vet

Sarah Palin’s husband is endorsing Newt Gingrich for president, Todd Palin told ABC News today.

But Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCain’s 2008 Republican running mate, has yet to decide “who is best able to go up against Barack Obama,” Todd Palin said.

Palin said he has not spoken to Gingrich or anyone from the former House speaker’s campaign. But he said he respects Gingrich for what he went through in the 1990s and compared that scrutiny in public life to what Sarah Palin went through during her run for the vice presidency.

You nailed the jealousy angle of these anti-Sarah women, (Repubs AND ‘rats), out there ‘beer. I’ll bet most of ‘em go 2-3 bills, most of it in the butt, and look like Helen Thomas so I guess ya can figure where their hate comes from when they see a strong, independent, pretty, and in great shape at her age,(she WORKS at it for you who don’t know what exercise/work outs require), after FIVE(!) children, women who also is married to a handsome, strong man. She has it all. Green eyed monster is right.

You have a twisted definition of "endorsement" that ABC does not share.

Definition of ENDORSE
transitive verb

2a : to approve openly ; especially : to express support or approval of publicly and definitely

Just because someone does not use the words "I endorse" does not mean they did not endorse them.

"Todd is no neophyte whether we dig up his 20 years of interviews or not, something that I won’t bother with."

I can see that you are not one to back up your opinions with facts. Enjoy ignorant bliss. If you are correct that the Palins support Newt above all others it will be the blind squirrel finding a nut syndrome.

How embarrassing for Newt. lol

Yeah, he's so embarrassed he called Rush to make sure his millions of listeners knew about it. Analysis FAIL. Do you get dizzy from spinning so hard?

That’s the great thing about the internet. All you need is fingers and a keyboard. Facts and evidence not required.

I've concluded it has to be jealousy from both sides.I have two female lib friends who absolutely hate Sarah Palin, and when I ask why, they can't articulate any reason whatsoever.

On the other hand I know females who adore Sarah Palin and when I ask them why,it is for the reasons you stated along with her conservative views. These are women who are comfortable in their own skins and are not intimidated by a beautiful, and successful woman.

I don’t care. Why you care about an insignificant person who has not done a days work in politics is beyond me. You do know he is a married man so stop your teenie bopper crush.

just ignore them, it’s just sour grapes from the supporters of the others who wish he had endorsed their guy.

You made the ridiculous claim of Todd being a neophyte, it is up to you to prove your childish claim, it is not up to me to show the obvious 20 year political and public exposure of the Palins, which we already know.

The Palins have been signaling Newt for weeks, don’t be so blind and stubborn and ignore what is before you.

"You have a twisted definition of "endorsement" that ABC does not share."

From the ABC article:

"He did not criticize any of the other candidates and said his “hat is off to everyone” in the Republican race."

So if we accept that definition of endorse as the one you posited, then we can also say that Todd Palin has endorsed everyone in the Republican race because he expressed support and approval for all of them by the above statement.

When using endorsement in terms of political endorsement, it is commonly accepted to mean that you support someone above all others in the race. Where does he say he endorses Newt above the others in the article? Something coming from Todd, not the reporter.

Okay, guys, again, somebody read the article and tell me where Todd says, specifically, explicitly, “I endorse Newt Gingrich.” Never mind, I’ll save you the trip. I went over there and read it. You’re not going to find that quote in there. Because it’s not freaking there to find. Todd Palin just said the exact same sort of nice stuff about Newt that his wife has said about pretty much everybody in the 2012 field. None of which has as yet led to either of them saying “I endorse X.” Sarah Palin has not endorsed anybody for the presidential nomination. And neither has Todd. Sorry to inject reality into the discussion.

I don’t care.

It is apparent to everyone here that, in fact you do, and it's eating at you.

From the article.....Sarah's husband said that she is not yet certain:

“who is best able to go up against Barack Obama,”

Since the conservative credentials, or the lack of them, is know for all the candidates, it sounds like she's looking for electability over idealogy.

Todd is trying to back Gingrich without actually saying that he does.

Sarah is obviously not backing him.

Without having a transcript of his comments, it is clear that neither of of knows whether he actually endorsed Newt or not, but ABC says he did. I note that they are clever enough to only include extremely short cherry-picked quotes. Typical ABC. Looking for a transcript...

You have failed logic 101. You are building a straw man argument. You are claiming that I said he was a neophyte politically. I never said that. I said he was a neophyte in the context of being interviewed by major media outlets. If he was such a veteran of this, it would be easy to prove me wrong and show all the times he was interviewed by ABC, NBC, CBS etc...

Then you go on to say that I have to prove a negative. Prove he hasn't been interviewed by major media outlets. How silly is that? How do you prove a negative such as that? If the claim was so ridiculous (Todd Palin is a neophyte when it comes to being interviewed by major media outlets and concerning politics, not what Sarah's favorite dinner meal is), then it would be easy to come up with the countless examples of this happening. I'm waiting....

Bitter much? However, I can’t help notice the irony of someone posting on a thread while saying they don’t care what the person who is the subject of the thread said and exercising their free speech rights while suggesting another person should shut up and not express theirs. The things that make you go hmmmm!
