Another day, another poll that shows Professor Gingrich making his move. He’ll be effectively tied with Willard the liberal on primary day. People are starting to see what kind of fake and fraud Willard McRomney really is.

GO NEWT!

Rick and Rick, withdraw from SC-—throw support to Newt—stop Romney’s momentum-— then live to fight another day in Florida.

If not, Romney wins Sc- and then it’s over.

in every state thus far, 3 out of 4 Republicans agree, anybody but Romney. If he is able to slide into the nomination despite the fact that 75% of the Republican electorate is against him than we have a serious problem with our primary process. Mutt wants to convince us that he is inevitable but the only thing I am convinced of is that the majority of Republicans would prefer someone other rhan him.

Sad Reality 101

If Gingrich can not win SC by 8-10 points, his fundraising, which is on life support now, will dry up up completely.

That means no TV in Florida, and Florida, where Gingrich was once ahead 12+ points, and is now behind Romney, may go decisively for Romney.

Romney is already running Florida TV ads in heavy rotation and Gingrich, Paul, and Santorum are not up at all.

Perry is in a low intensity TV ad schedule, and is getting nothing out of it. He it DRT.

This could be all over by EOM.

May not like it, but it’s Political Reality 101.

Interesting that Huntsmans Dad hasn’t given Huntsman Jr any money. Guess it went to ROMNEY.

I think America needs a shower after all the incest that is being practiced in this Primary.
Another one of Romney’s deals.

In early 2001, Bain purchasd a 30% stake in Huntsman Corporation, a leading chemical company. Bain’s $600 million investment in Huntsman has been noted as an interesting footnote in the 2012 Republican Presidential nomination process since Mitt Romney’s former firm (he had left Bain in 1999) acquired the company controlled by the father of another candidate Jon Huntsman (Huntsman was an executive of the company at that time).

The last 3-4, if they truly care more for the future - the very SALVATION - of our country more than for personal glory - would bow out and let those votes go free - New would get enough to save the day - Romney is mired at the same % level from the get go - the % of Rhino republicans in the country...

These low men on the totem pole KNOW they can't win.

They are now nothing but spoilers.

After Iowa, Perry went home to TX to 'decide.' The fact that he went back to TX meant he had. But someone convinced him to keep on - someone said it was Forbes, to keep the flat tax issue going???

Or was he offered a plum position to keep gumming up the works for Newt?

Newt seems to be the only one who is in it to save our great country first and foremost.

Ron Paul thinks he would - but he'd only sink us.

The others are "Look at MEEEEEEEE" folk first or have gotten so caught up in their unexpected attention that they just can't let go and do what's right.

Huntsman's arrogance is stomach turning.

Romney must not become president.
He knows conservatives do not like him and will try not to anger us the first term. The party will never allow a primary challenge in 2016. Then Romney will have four years of unabated Massachusetts because he won’t owe the base anything, Kind of like where we gave McCain one last term and he can thumb his nose at the Tea Party forever.
We have 8 days to make this country right.

The moves in the polls are real. It is real that Newt is gaining. You can tell because he is separating from Santorum and now Rick is hammering on Newt. Rasmussem has it 28 - 21, ARG has it 26 - 22. In any case, Newt’s message is taking hold. Even Krauthammer is saying that Romney needs to speak up with good answers or he is in trouble.

I wish Newt would bring Art Laffer to even one event before the SC vote. Let the author of Reaganomics stand up in public for his candidate and I think Newt will take it.

Rick S. will not be going, he just got a billionaire to give him a bunch of cash.

I actually think that his supporters might not go to Newt, because of his past cheating on his wives, and they wouldn't go to Perry, because he is so low in the polls. Afraid that they might go to Romney as the most electable, which is only a fable.

Hope Newt has enough money to ramp up Florida. As long as news media keeps having Newt on to explain the controversy over Bain, he gets to explain what the real issue is, as well as showing why Romney's record makes him unelectable. Free face time.

I am glad he's hanging in there. If he gets the nomination, he'll try to do another sweep campaign, like the contract with America. A winning message with everyone sending a unified message.

I am just going to pray that we get the best candidate to save America, and return us to freedom and our leaders to honesty, and reliance on divine providence.

People remember the latest they’ve seen and heard. The negative ads hurt him badly because he was not in a position to respond. The bulk of those ads came after the Dec. 17 debate, probably Newt’s high point. Now, Newt is fighting back and for all that the debates last weekend were not good overall, Newt did well. The Monday night debate could have a big impact. In all cases, Newt is visible right now. That has its positive and negative impacts, but Newt generally does well when the lights are on him.

I can’t recall a more misguided analysis. After being counted out for dead twice, all Newt to do is finish a strong second...say within 5 points. Then all the conservatives will rally around him realizing he is our only hope to avoid the Romney disaster.

Should Newt actually win? Even by a vote?

It’s all over for Myth. All his millions and all his MSM support will have netted him nothing in the one state NO GOP PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE HAS EVER LOST.

Nice try at psyops, though. I’m sure dirtbag Romney is proud of you.

I think we have a serious problem with the voting process in general. We can't vote for who we actually want, we have to vote for who can win. That problem is the reason Slick Willy managed to win despite over half the electorate voting for a conservative in both 92 and 96.

I wonder if the primaries would be a good place to experiment with a "preferential voting"-type system.

What can we do to help Newt or to stop Mitt? I find myself wishing that we had some young activists who have the time and means to go to S.C. and attend all of Mitt’s rallies to ask him pertinent questions about obamacare, abortion, gay marriage, etc. He seems to be getting a pass on all these issues. The Bain thing seems to be a boring diversion. I think he is happy it came up. Although, when I saw him on TV at a rally today he looked and sounded desperate.

Santorum is on C-SPAN right now speaking. He is incredible. He is introducing his wife and you can tell the genuine love for her. What a great family man and would make such a great President. I was watching Newt earlier and he said “Oh here is my wife”....it was an afterthought. Didn’t surprise me. He is not much for the family life. Anyway, Santorum’s birthday is 10 May which makes him a Taurus which is what I am. No wonder he is sucessful and moral. Most Taurus’ are. Go Santorum. One of the things that helps is when online newspapers run stories and allow comments, always respond. The types of reminders that I post on FR, I also post online at the newspaper sites. Lots of people read them and do take into consideration what the comments have to say. Pointing out facts and reminding people of relevant details on the candidates’ backgrounds all help.

It is interesting how many people forget Newt’s role in the Reagan revolution, his refusal to support Bush 41 on the Read my Lips broken promise, the ‘94 congress takeover, tax and spending reform, balanced budget amendments, leading the investigations into the Clinton crime syndicate, pushing the House Clinton Impeachment, and on and on. Comparing this to Romney’s single, poor term as governor of Mass., really gets people to thinking this campaign in a different context.

why are you celebrating a Poll showing Newt losing when previous polls have had him ahead?

I'm going to refrain from making a snarky reply to that statement, but just let me say this. All of the recent polls show that Newt has real staying power, which isn't the result of million dollar ad campaigns, or huge slip-ups on Romney's part.

Going into South Carolina, he's within striking distance of Romney, even though he was shot to pieces by Romney's negative ads three weeks ago, and watched as Romney gained momentum with 'wins' in Iowa and New Hampshire.

This is why you're seeing Newt supporters expressing optimism and hope right now.

If Mitt was as strong as some want to think he is, Newt would have been destroyed over the last three weeks, and would now be rolling around at the bottom of the polls (like Perry is). But, he's not. Another 5% increase in his polling numbers would put him even with Mitt, going into South Carolina. And there's every reason for Newt supporters to think that he'll do that, given the improvement in his numbers.

Like I said, the thing that pleases Newt fans the most is any poll showing Santorum leading, not Newt ahead.

Like I said, you're not rational.

“All of the recent polls show that Newt has real staying power”

Sure. Staying power to stay in second.

“which isn’t the result of million dollar ad campaigns, or huge slip-ups on Romney’s part.”

This is South Carolina. It’s not Iowa, where the excuse was that he didn’t care about it. Or New Hampshire, where the excuse was that he didn’t care about that one either.

Why isn’t he blowing out Romney in South Carolina, since supposedly that is where he has an advantage? I don’t want to hear “it’s not possible”, because he was doing just that, a month ago.

Now you’re happy that he’s a comfortable second behind Romney? I just don’t get that!

“Another 5% increase in his polling numbers would put him even with Mitt, going into South Carolina. And there’s every reason for Newt supporters to think that he’ll do that, given the improvement in his numbers.”

I think he’s hit his cap. I’ve lost hope that he can beat Mitt, since he crashed and burned in December. The numbers just don’t show anything to suggest that he’s going to set the world on fire.

Conservatives, by and large, are supporting Santorum. Newt can’t get their support because he’s a moderate. Most of Newt’s support is coming from Moderates, not the Conservatives. Him being stuck at 25 percent in SC is evidence that he’s not going to get the votes that he needs to win.

We need to back the guy who’s already got the conservative votes in his back pocket - Santorum.

Now you’re happy that he’s a comfortable second behind Romney? I just don’t get that!

You sound like an emotional liberal. Knock that off and engage your analyzer.

Given what's happened over the last three weeks, Newt should be all but out of the race, but he's not. He's actually polling close behind Romney, which for most thinking people, is a GOOD thing.

It means he's got honest support, which isn't going to erode away because he lost a couple of inconsequential races to Romney, or got slammed with millions of dollars worth of negative campaign ads.

In case you hadn't noticed, his poll numbers are IMPROVING.

On the other hand, your candidate's numbers are reverting to trend, which shows that he doesn't have a solid, un-erodable base of support. Have you not noticed that he's now in 4th place behind Ron Paul?

Conservatives, by and large, are supporting Santorum.

What? Santorum is running a full 10 points behind Newt. Did you get that? A full 10 points. And you think that Newt should drop out and endorse Santorum? Why? To make you happy?

LOL. You're not rational.
