I think this is the kind of story that will run for a week or two, it probably won’t be dragged out like Abu Ghraib as that was part of the unpopular Iraq war which the media decided was an illegal war based on lies, and of course Bush was still in office.
When there was the big discussion about torture, one point often made was we can not descend to “subhuman” methods or we lose our moral authority. It’s no good saying since they can torture, we can torture, since we make the case that we are fighting for lofty ideals and principle. We’re the good guys.
The thing about torture was, it was a means to an end. The intent was to get information, whether it was effective at doing so is another question.
With this pissing on corpses, there’s no point to it at all besides perhaps a stress release for troops. Hell, anything could be a stress reliever. Bottom line it’s unprofessional. It’s something you would not report to your first line supervisor, something you would hide to your chain of command. It’s a selfish, individual act, in this case done for kicks, done to create a YouTube moment. Hatred of the enemy/Taliban aside, there’s no tactical point in such an act.
I love Mark Levin. For him to apparently celebrate this activity (I haven’t heard the show yet) is subversive to the day-to-day, mission-to-mission need for professional conduct in what we do. If it feels good, do it, is NOT a military creed any of us live by.
If the point is to make a reactionary statement based on the liberal media coverage, I can see that I guess.
Finally, I don’t see what’s so fantastic about pissing on corpses, even if it’s Hitler or Stalin. It’s juvenile.

course. And just so you know, I’m no spring chicken and for the first time in my life I now have a concealed permit. That wouldn’t have happened 10 years ago. I know that you have my back and the Marines back and I have yours and theirs.

Look, Romney cannot win 50% of the votes anywhere, except probably Utah and possibly Nevada. If the process was as you believe it to be, that would mean he could not go to the convention with 51% of the delegates.
But this is not so. When he gets 29% in South Carolina, he's "crushed the opposition". He's a "huge winner". He's "inevitable".
The fix is in,and it's been in for a long, long time.

I’m not very mobile any more, but I do as much target practice as I can afford.

Together we can all UNfix it - just wrote a check to Santorum’s campaign, and there’s a lot of free things we can do as well.
I can’t afford to donate much, but callers to a local talk show in my area say they like Santorum, and I live in a liberal state (guess I’m not the only conservative in my state). Maybe I’ll call that talk show and ask if I can give Santorum’s link on air.

You make some good points, but I hope they don’t go too hard on them, and I think you hope the same.
What’s worse is what our “leaders” do, with their political correctness, and won’t even call militant Islamic jihad, MILITANT ISLAMIC JIHAD, as well as other political-correct nonsense.
I’m sure you know that, whether you agree, or not, Mark Levin and other Americans, are just angry because they are on you side.
