Anti-immigration tone alienating Hispanics(Really?)
The Miami Herald ^ | 1/15/12 | JERI CLAUSING Associated Press

Posted on 01/15/2012 1:25:51 PM PST by mdittmar

The Republican Party is beefing up its minority outreach nationwide and preparing to put its rising Latino stars on the campaign trail amid concerns that tough immigration rhetoric in the presidential primary is taking on an increasingly anti-Hispanic tone.

But immigrant-rights groups and some political watchers say the damage may be irreversible. They argue that the GOP has severely hampered itself as it looks to woo the critical Latino voting bloc that could decide who wins key states like New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado and Florida next fall.

Guess we should all just lay down and let millions and millions of illegal aliens flood into America. Yeah, that makes sense.

Liberals are evil.

Is that among voting Hispanics or is that among Hussein’s undocumented voters?

Aliens are now directly influencing our already corrupt politicians. The American people are disorganized, leaderless and themselves heavily corrupted and as such are unable to effectively resist a conquest from within.

Same story, time and time again. And full of outright lies...

Largest supporter of eliminating bilingual education: Hispanics.

Largest supporter of deporting criminal illegal aliens: Hispanics.

Largest supporter of cutting off benefits to illegal aliens: Hispanics.

I don’t care about the opinions of illegal aliens - if you only include those numbers from legal citizens, the Hispanic population is very opinionated against illegal aliens. They are the ones who are repeatedly painted with the crimes of illegal aliens, hurt the most by the fraud of illegal aliens, and suffer the most by ‘accommodating’ liberals who go out of their way to force Spanish language options on the Hispanic population.

And our response? To eliminate any choice for Hispanic voters in limiting and eliminating the illegal alien population. Mock Herman Cain for his ‘electrify the fence’ idea, blockade any reforms in programs to eliminate illegal aliens, put up roadblocks to stop the deportation of criminal illegal aliens.. These are usually the actions of ‘conservatives’ who are trying to play the ‘big tent’ idea.

If both parties are uniform in their opinions, then we leave no choice for voters to choose from. And we continue the treadmill of ‘moderate’, aka liberal, elected representatives into Congress.

Much as I mock Ron Paul, he’s doing the one thing I advocate - offering a choice to voters. Now if only we could get a conservative to do the same thing.

Is there actually some reason to believe that Americans of Spanish ancestry are offended by opposition to the phenomenon of limitless numbers of illegal aliens invading the territory of the U.S.A., receiving free medical care and free education for their children, and being permitted to vote in presidential elections?

I live in West Texas, with a large Hispanic population. Many of the people here have grandparents or great-grandparents who may have come from Mexico, but that does not make them pro-illegal.

The only people I have heard use the term "wetbacks" are Hispanic people. Not long after Arizona passed the laws everyone was having hissy fits over, I had a conversation with a couple I know. The gentleman said something along the lines of, "You know, I have to show my driver's license if I want to write a check or buy beer or do lots of things. What's the big deal about having to show your identification?" The couple's name was something along the lines of "Martinez."

My son mentioned a conversation he had with a friend's grandfather, who said something about "da**ed wetbacks, coming up here and taking all our jobs." The gentleman's name is something along the lines of Gonzalez.

Quite a few of the Hispanic people I know feel that the people who have recently come from Mexico don't want to "pay their dues" but want to be handed everything, given special privileges, and not be bothered to learn the language (a lot of younger Hispanics didn't grow up speaking Spanish and people coming from Mexico can be quite rude about it).

Does that mean that these folks vote Republican? Not necessarily, but I don't believe that the immigration issue is that big a deal to them.

Right. Just keep letting them into the country so we won’t short term “offend’ anyone...and then where the problem gets so large it’s past the point of return, then what?

I guarantee you even the “tolerant” libs will regret this.

I’ve got a lot of Hispanic friends and have Hispanic family members. They are ALL against illegal immigration. This crap the state run “media” is spreading is no different than the white Kommie Kids whining about football teams using Indian names. It’s all bull****. The only people whining about it are white Kommie Kids and Che-loving, commie ‘RAT activists.

And I guess we should just ignore that 90%+ of the illegals are hispanic, mainly Mexican.

I met one of my lifelong friends when he was a migrant worker traveling with his family. He isn’t a fan of guest worker programs simply because he says they just provide cover for illegals.

Your experience is different from mine. Most of the hispanics I know at work support illegals, mainly because some of them probably are themselves or they ALL have illegal friends and relatives here.

The United States of America's cherished heritage as a nation of laws not men is now anti-Hispanic, says SCUM employee.

I wish these Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) servile, complaisant, undistinguished media (SCUM) employees would explain why they feeeeeeeeeel that every American of Hispanic origin is an inveterate law breaker and rejects our heritage. It don't make a lick of sense.

But alas, SCUM employees and Rat Party members see no difference between legal and ILLEGAL, it looks like. It's what they do.

You're right on every point. Legal citizens who happen to be Hispanic are NOT supporters of criminals of any race or country.
