I read that the highest percentile was 91% when he became Pres. and that he lowered it just 1% to 90 . Anyway , I get your point about the GOP and you are probably right .

Well why don't you point out where in the Constitution the Federal government is given the power to tell states what labor laws they can have.

My sentence makes as much sense as your sentence!

Right.

My question: Well why don't you point out where in the Constitution the Federal government is given the power to tell states what labor laws they can have.

Your question: Why don't you point out where it gives the Fed Gov't the power to unions to not let people work if they don't join the unions.

You should keep silent, always.

He won’t be getting West either.

The intelligent people don’t want to be in the white house in 2013; its going to make 1937 look like a boom cycle.

It must be true that all unattractive women hate Palin.

Huh?

Oh, you mean when you wanted Newt to sweep the nation with Palin on his ticket, how much she would do for him, and I said you must mean what she would do TO him? LOL! Yes, that remark qualifies me.

“Fred Thompson climbed and remained within the margin of error in every single primary poll conducted, and when the actual primaries were held, he even beat Romney and came in second, not third, in one of them, Britt Hume pretended there was no such candidate as Thompson.”

I didn’t remember that - guess I wasn’t listening to Brit so much (for some reason) at that time. Wow. I also liked him for a long time, especially because he’s been open about being a Christian. But both he and Krauthammer lost me when they summarily brushed off my guy Herman Cain from the start and even as he skyrocketed in the polls. And now this bias for Romney - ignoring Newt and anyone else who’s showed promise.

I’ve been very sad about seeing several whom I once respected as conservative intellectuals now revealed as arrogant elitists. Bless a few great ones like Thomas Sowell who fearlessly express their displeasure for Romney and admiration of Newt. I can tell also that Hannity and Dick Morris (who was a big Herman supporter) both like Newt more than Romney, and working at Fox, that takes some guts. They just can’t be as obvious about it as I believe they’d like to.

As far as Juan, you may be right about his “inner conservative”. As I said, his wife and son are (I’ve heard) vocal conservatives, and Juan clearly has traditional values himself. I think he just feels loyalty to his race and his party (hence, BHO)- but he may yet be “trainable” - LOL

“Despite Romney’s other issues, and of course he isn’t popular among conservatives, I just don’t see him confronting the enemies within the way Newt does.”

He wouldn’t - he has the crippling disease to please and he’s petrified of the race card. BHO would make mincemeat of him.

Yes, I was reading back on some of the FR threads back then, and in all of the primary polls, Thompson was well within the margin of error for third, and beat Romney in of one of actual primaries, I forget which state, and my jaw dropped as I eagerly watched Fox News Sunday to see how they’d report on this good news for Thompson ... and Britt and the others acted as if there was no such man as Thompson in the race; their discussion just skipped over him altogether. It was as if he wasn’t even there. Britt revealed himself as a complete phony, and I was shocked.

Good point!
But having someone on the ticket from Pa is more likely to help in Pa then having no one from Pa.

I actually tend to think that Veep candidates don’t carry as much weight in influencing their respective state;s electorate like the y used to!

But it still might help!

Good point. The press in PA destroyed Santorum last time and the stupid voters of PA fell for it. PA is heavily Dem and VERY heavily union so I guess the press was just pandering to it’s audience.
