Santorum is great.....but, I don’t think he could stand up to a debate with OBAMA....plus, I think he is more polarizing than NEWT, believe it or not.

I might harbor some negative feelings about Newt, but they evaporate if he wins the Republican nomination (and we have a general election).

Does “favorability” even matter? And what voters did they sample for these favorability ratings? No surprise that Democrats might consider Newt more polarizing.

Does “favorability” even matter? What is favorability, anyway? And what voters did they sample for these favorability ratings? No surprise that Democrats might consider Newt more polarizing.

I think that if Newt wins the nomination, and people actually watch him campaign, his negatives will drop significantly.

Watching him in the debates, he comes across as bright, tough, quick, courageous, knowledgeable, clear-headed and calm.

In fact, I think he comes across as very presidential.

I don’t think most voters remember him that well from the 1990s, which in any case was a long time ago.

I have been continuously impressed by his performance, and I think that as the nominee he would clean Obama’s clock.

Billy Kristol can go pound sand.

Were the "pundits" to be faced with the prospect of a Thomas Jefferson candidacy, there is little doubt that Jefferson would be declared "unelectable."

The reasons would vary, but there is no doubt that among elitists in both Parties, in both the political class and the media, there is a belief that American citizens are too uninformed to recognize and respond enthusiastically to an intellectual like Gingrich.

Last night's hearty response, including an unheard-of standing ovation, from an audience of ordinary citizens, should have exploded that premise.

As in 1776, the rights of individuals are under attack, and in order for liberty to be restored, "the People" need an articulate spokesman who can go deeper in a debate than just trite phrases about the "private sector" and the familiar, oft-repeated words of "hope of the earth."

In the Fall, the great defender of coercive government's role in "redistribution" of the people's earnings in order to buy votes from the "99%" must be rebutted, exposed, revealed, and shown to be a false prophet, expounding counterfeit ideas which are directly in opposition to our Constitution's protections.

A quick mind which is full of the Founders' reasoning on behalf of freedom is needed for that task. Fast talk and shallow surface responses will not do the job.

The only people who don’t yet have an unfavorabble personal opinion of Santorum are those who have not yet paid enough attention to him.

The full court media assault on Newt when he stole the House from the rightful owners, the Dems, goes a long way in explaining Newt's "unfavorables".

He is flawed, but he has been hated by the media his entire career.

I'm going to bring up a word we haven't seen yet this election cycle....Gravitas.

Newt has it! He's got it in spades!

Romney has it to some degree, but comes off as an adolescent at times, trying to cover for a lie. We just don't know yet what the lie is.

Paul has it, but but he's just "crazy dangerous" in some of his views.

Santorum does not have it!
Maybe it's his youthful child-like personage, maybe his way of presenting his ideas, maybe his pushing a gimmick like his sweater vests, but his presentation comes across like amateur-hour and very much as asking permission of the adults in the room to listen to his ideas.
Let's be honest here, he cannot beat Obama, who unfortunately has gravitas.

America needs a leader, not a follower or an under-achiever. Rick Santorum may be ready for this job at some point in the future, but it isn't now and he needs to be told this.

Newt is our best hope for a more conservative President and he now has my vote. There is no other way to beat Romney and everyone here should know that now.

Kind of a mute point. Unless Newt can pull off some sort of a hail Mary in the last 10 seconds of the game with the ball on his own 1 yard line, then Newt like Cain, Like Huntsman, like Bachman, will be out of it.

And he has nobody to blame but himself. He needed to go back to what he way doing that got him in the top spot in the first place, making Obama the bad guy. When he turned his broadside against Romney and only Romney, he lost favor fast.

Not at all a fan of possum grin Kristol (or any of the self-appointed Fox “experts” for that matter) but DUh-bama’s days are numbered, regardless of the nominee.

Hey Bill, I disliked Newt up until November, when I heard him in a couple of debates. My opinion changed. And I know I’m not the only one. But I still detest Romney.
