I’m not sure how far back out they went before turning around and heading for the shallows as she was sinking. That graphic is obviously not to scale. Whether one mile or six is not important. The point was that the place she struck the rock is not the place she finally came to rest and sank.

Watch the defense claim it was due to the Captain’s Master seamanship to bring the ship onto a position so that the damages could be exposed above the waterlevel to allow repairs without a dry dock.

“I tripped and I ended up in one of the boats.”

You have to admire his honesty for admitting taking hallucinogens prior to the grounding.

As I understand it, the ship had only been underway for TWO HOURS....Cue Gilligan’s Isle music..”three hour tour, three hour tour.”
