Drudge: Gingrich’s ex-wife is ready to dish (Marianne Gingrich interview to be released tomorrow?)

You know who this benefits?

Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband’s career with a single interview. Earlier this week, she sat before ABCNEWS cameras, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

She spoke to ABCNEWS reporter Brian Ross for two hours. Her explosive revelations are set to rock the campaign. But now a “civil war” has erupted inside of the network, an insider claims, on exactly when the confession will air!

Just a little more late intrigue for a race that’s already in flux from Newt’s post-debate surge, Palin’s quasi-endorsement, Santorum’s possible victory in Iowa (the official results will be announced tomorrow morning), Perry’s uncertain status vis-a-vis calls for him to drop out, and yet another debate tomorrow night. Drudge says the interview’s tentatively set to air Monday, after the vote in South Carolina, but reporters from Politico and the NYT are hearing it’ll air … tomorrow, presumably before the debate. I’m surprised his ex didn’t insist that it be broadcast ASAP. If she’s coming clean now after years of silence, just as he’s readying his last stand against Romney, she’s obviously doing it to try to take him out. If you were her, wouldn’t you want it to drop before the primary?

Actually, she hasn’t been completely silent. Go read the Esquire piece from 2010 that everyone will be murmuring about until this thing finally airs. Quote:

Back in the 1990s, she told a reporter she could end her husband’s career with a single interview. She held her tongue all through the affair and the divorce and even through the annulment Gingrich requested from the Catholic Church two years later, trying to erase their shared past. Now she sits quietly for a moment, ignoring her eggs, trying to decide how far she wants to go.

Here’s the most sensational bit, after she found out about Gingrich’s new mistress:

She kind of guessed it, of course. Women usually do. But did she know the woman was in her apartment, eating off her plates, sleeping in her bed?

She called a minister they both trusted. He came over to the house the next day and worked with them the whole weekend, but Gingrich just kept saying she was a Jaguar and all he wanted was a Chevrolet. “‘I can’t handle a Jaguar right now.’ He said that many times. ‘All I want is a Chevrolet.’”

He asked her to just tolerate the affair, an offer she refused.

He’d just returned from Erie, Pennsylvania, where he’d given a speech full of high sentiments about compassion and family values.

The next night, they sat talking out on their back patio in Georgia. She said, “How do you give that speech and do what you’re doing?”

“It doesn’t matter what I do,” he answered. “People need to hear what I have to say. There’s no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn’t matter what I live.”

If her interview runs along those lines — Gingrichian egomania and hypocrisy but nothing criminal or lurid — I don’t know how much it’ll change things. You never know what information voters have and haven’t fully assimilated about a candidate, but Newt’s “values” problems have been public knowledge long enough that I take it they’re already mostly priced into his stock. He’s going to say she’s a disgruntled ex who’s making things up and, in any case, that he’s found redemption in his faith since the divorce. Unless she’s got a bombshell she’s ready to drop, how many voters thinking of voting for him at this point will really think twice?

Exit question: If the interview does air tomorrow, how hard will Santorum and Romney go after him at the debate over it? Santorum’s desperate to have social conservatives unite behind him, but this is an awfully messy attack to try with the, er, “Chevrolet” sitting in the audience in front of him.

Look, we all know that Newt cheated on wife number one and two....That is no secret (never was) and he has numerous times repented and indicated that he is sorry for causing anyone in his life pain.

We also know (from them both) that they have had no relationship for several years now, so any information, negative tales, or pity parties she imparts in the interview are at least several years old.

We also can EASILY surmise that Maryanne has motive to attempt to ruin her exhusband, in as dirty and public a way as she possibly can.

For all the above I will consider her interview the low class, trashy, invective-filled, innuendo-laced, dirty-linen airing that it is. Many will no doubt say ‘no wonder he divorced her bitter azz’. I say that now and I havent heard it yet.

Newt ought to tell ABC to air the tape. What does he have to fear from a bitter, ex wife? Fortunately for Newt most women don’t stand by other women.

Hell hath no fury. . .

and sleazy old Newt has it coming. We all knew that, so no surprise.

Too bad the future of the country is at stake. Otherwise, this could be quite entertaining.

***

Too bad she can’t see past her own nose:

1) country could use Newt
2) country needs to jettison Mitt
3)

Mat 6:14-15 - “If you forgive those who sin against you, your Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Mark 11:24-25 - “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you receive, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”

I don’t care what she says. We don’t even have own candidates. That’s what worries me. So why do we always have to get our panties in a wad or people who shouldn’t be there.

I know all this about him. I decided he admitted it, he repented and he won’t do it with the current wifey. He knows right from wrong and is not hiding stuff. He knows he has been a failure in relationships with women. We all know he this about him. If a woman is dragged out who he has a current affiar with...then he’s a problem to me. I am not voting for the Pope.

I know he was sexually abused as a teen by a twisted adult teacher who he married and then divorced. Chances are Newt is warped in relationships with women given he did not have the opportunity to sexually mature normally. A boy in a sexual and marriage relationship with a woman is up for serious manipulation and psychological abuse which he in turn, will share freely with everyone he meets as a man. A woman interested in a boy for sex and marriage has serious psychological issues.

“I support anyone but Newt frankly”

Obama will be glad to hear that. You are the kind of person he is looking for.

Just out of curiosity, did Marianne have an affair with Gingrich prior to the divorce in his first marriage?

Whatever the case, this willingness to undermine him says that the Catholic Church was right to grant an annulment. This was a relationship that should not have been in the first place. It was groundless.

“Palin couldn’t be VP because she could see Russia from ALASKA”

Palin never said that.

What I am worried about is that it may be Obama to punish this nation for its sins.

In the words of Newt himself in an article in Politico today ....

“I fully expect the Romney campaign to be unendingly dirty and dishonest,” Gingrich said. “They thought they could buy this. They’re discovering they can’t buy this.”

He concluded his 40-minute town hall by encouraging attendees to help him combat attacks.

“I think they have internal polls showing them losing,” he said. “I think they will do anything at any level.”

I agree. The speed at which some Freepers can flip their positions and stated beliefs is incredible.

Second only to the selectivity with which some FReepers only apply moral outrage when it's not their guy whose got the momentum.

"Callista is the Chevy and Marianne is the Jaguar."

That's how I read it, too. (I must say though- if Callista is the "Chevy"...)

This is one of those unfortunate myths. Palin didn’t say it; her impersonator, Tina Fey, did.

Callista is the Chevy and Marianne is the Jaguar.

From what I've heard, Marianne may be a bit of a Cougar, too.

Then that means God wanted an evil bastard like Obama in office. The only way that’s possible is if he’s royally p*ssed at us.

One thing everyone needs to understand. We can complain all we want about this being a hit just before the primary all we want, but it does come with the territory. If a person makes bad decisions in their life, they can expect their enemies to throw those decisions in their face when said person runs on a conservative message.

What we need to understand is that if Newt survives this hit and still manages to have a good debate and win the SC primary, he will be unstoppable. This has the chance of finishing him off as Cain was, or propelling him all the way to the oval office.

I don’t get to vote in SC, so I can only listen to the argument and watch the fallout. Remember, it is the conservatives of SC who must decide if this is too much and they won’t vote for Newt, or that it is too much and they are tired of the dirty MSM’s tricks of destroying our candidates and thus they are going to vote for Newt overwhelmingly.

Either way, we should not be surprised this is hitting now. Come Saturday evening we will see if the voters fall for another leftist dirty trick.
