Newt Gingrich: The Indispensable Republican [same "bombshell" details in 2010 Esquire hitpiece]
Esquire ^ | 18/10/2010 | John H. Richardson

Early in May, she went out to Ohio for her mother's birthday. A day and a half went by and Newt didn't return her calls, which was strange. They always talked every day, often ten times a day, so she was frantic by the time he called to say he needed to talk to her.

"About what?"

He wanted to talk in person, he said.

"I said, 'No, we need to talk now.' "

He went quiet.

"There's somebody else, isn't there?"

She kind of guessed it, of course. Women usually do. But did she know the woman was in her apartment, eating off her plates, sleeping in her bed?

She called a minister they both trusted. He came over to the house the next day and worked with them the whole weekend, but Gingrich just kept saying she was a Jaguar and all he wanted was a Chevrolet. " 'I can't handle a Jaguar right now.' He said that many times. 'All I want is a Chevrolet.' "

He asked her to just tolerate the affair, an offer she refused.

This whole situation is sad. Yes, Newt screwed up horribly when he was younger. Is it possible for him to make it right? How does he do that? I suggest it is by living right today and in the future. It is all any of us can do.

:: But he was narcissistic enough to ask her to let him have a steady mistress?? ::

Nope, he was narcissistic enough to make her admit failure and use the “divorce” term first.

Pardon my bluntness...

I’ve seen many marriages break up and the cheaters get married, only to cheat yet again.

Why?

If you cheat (male or female) you are a whore. You can’t expect lifelong fidelity and happiness with a whore - sorry, sweetcheeks, nobody is that special. When you choose to diddle around on your spouse, neither cheating-party member should have any expectation of respect.

She got a good dose of KARMA. How is that newsworthy?

I think this interview helps Newt, as most folks who have been through a divorce know how nasty they can be.

I also think Callista, or whatever her name is, ought to be worried as heck. There’s always going to be a future Mrs. Former Speaker waiting in the wings.

He cheated on his first wife WITH her, why should she be surprised that he did it again.

She looked better in my eyes as the ex wife, who was dissappointed, than the ex-wife who wants to kill her ex-husbands chance’s at the Presidency as payback.

Payback is what she wants, Her pound of flesh.

She has been laying in wait for years to extract that pound of flesh and now shehas take her shot. Now she can go off into obscurity as the bitter wench she is.

She seems bitter & nasty.

Whatever she may "seem", we know for a fact that the people closest to Gingrich simply cannot trust him.

His behavior in this was vile, unmanly and inexcusable.

I'm liking Santorum more and more.

The general electorate could really give two hoots. I present the case of "open marriage, it's just about sex, multiple affair, probable rapist" William Jefferson Clinton. I follow with the case of a known homosexual former drug abuser that has sworn, under oath, and has passed lie detector tests that he along with other known homsexuals had affairs with Barack Hussien Obama.

The General electorate obviously don't care about such things.

Er.. excuse me, Esquire, but you guys never said anything about Bill Clinton's many someone elses..

"Shut up! That was the Clinton's personal business -- you conservatives always interfering in the lives of others, you Bible clinging morons!"

Funny, you assume that I am supportive of her or attacking Newt, though all I did was point out that the woman had the right to be bitter about how she was treated.

As for the fact that she was "the other woman" in his first marriage; yeah, I have always been amused when a person who has an affair with a married person is shocked when that person does the same thing to them. I used to give one of my thrice married friends fits over that very thing when he would complain that he thought his wife might be having an affair. I would say . . . well, she did the same thing with you, why would you expect anything different?

I am offended by Newt's behavior and I blasted Clinton as unsuitable for the Presidency, because he had violated his marriage vows. How can we trust a man who has already proven that solemn oaths mean nothing to him?

I have chosen to support Newt in spite of that for two reasons, 1) he appears to have truly undergone a spiritual rebirth in his conversion to Catholicism, and 2) we are in such desperate straits that I am willing to overlook his shortcomings for his exceptional ability and accomplishments. I guess you could say that desperate times require desperate measures.

Can’t blame all of this on the ex-wives. Newt clearly has major moral issues.

I don’t have to like him to vote for him, but I truly believe that Newt is the right man at the right time for this nation.

Hell, the truth be told, most of our Presidents were SOBs, but loyal to their country. We can’t say that about the current resident of the White House.

Newt may not be a sweetheart, but he will fight for this nation.

It’s not the general electorate that this hit interview is designed to affect. It’s the S.C. voters who are conservative, Evangelical Christians that may change their vote if this breaks two days before the election. These same people probably did not think that Clinton’s hi-jinks were OK.

Newt’s first wife was his highschool math teacher, eight years his senior. They began their “relationship” when he was sixteen. Today, she’d be in jail. But at that time it was laugh upon.

It messed him up. Obviously taught him that the love and sex and lying go together. That in order to be in love, that feeling “don’t get caught” must exist. You can see it in the affairs. He goes on to marry his mistresses because he equates that “high” from taking such risks, with being in love.

I’ve always wondered why cheaters get married at all. Why not just stay single? Instead, so many of them marry again and again. It’s as if they always want a backup at home in case they don’t find anything outside of it.

I have no opinion on Newt’s second ex-wife; she is not running for office. Newt is the one running for office, and it seems that his marriages follow a pattern: it appears that he has affairs on the side, and then, when the wife has to start going to hospitals or doctors for some reason (whether it’s for a benign tumor or, as in this case, MS), he files for divorce. If this woman’s story is true, this is the second time he has done it. But, it’s no secret that he has this kind of baggage; it’s a big reason why many people say he’s unelectable.

We are certainly in agreement.

I do not feel that Newt is the best man for the job of President.

I feel he is the best man available right now.

The others just can’t cut the mustard.

of course they’ll be posting soon and informing the public how there is a lot of talk with obama and his homo pal, the AP will put 15 of their so called journalists on obama’s book and report how he wrote how he hung around with radicals, black radicals, chicano’s Marxists etc so as not to be a sell out.
They’ll report on obama’s cocaine habit and how obama was said to have an affair with a woman and his wife wanted that certain woman shipped off and boy did she disappear quick.

Yea yea yea We know the MSM don’t even hide their bias anymore and that 95% of them work for the DNC

Isn’t it amazing that all these women who were supposed victims come out at just the right time to destroy a presidential candidate? It is only becaue they are patriots and care so much about the country so they are sacrificing so much to have to spew out all the horrible details they dread to even remember all over again, but they will do it for the country. GAG
