Sounds like he was telling her “If you want to stay married to me you’re gonna’ have to get over it. If you can’t get past me getting some on the side then call a lawyer.”

With that said, I don’t know how anyone couldn’t see this “character” issue coming from a mile away.

After seeing the clip of her during the interview, I think Newt was being too generous. She was a real sharpshooter, with constant trigger finger on killing erections.

Wow so let me get this straight.

You know Newt cheated on his wife, he has admitted to it.

But what you are concerned with...

Did Newt ask for permission to cheat or not?

And proving somehow asking for permission to cheat and his wife saying no you can’t...is going to sway how you think about Newt?

“A lot of FReepers seem to be falling for “who they think” Newt is...

I remember when FR started and everyone was talking about character when it came to Bill Clinton, etc... all of that is forgotten now...bizarre and majorly hypocritical - JUST LIKE NEWT.”

It’s sad really. FR is turning into a den of snakes.

Conservatives are supposed to stand on principle and get behind candidates who live and breath conservative principles and values.

I saw a big fracture occurring here in 2008 with all the McCain support. This place is infested with moderate republicans who only care about winning.

Try to talk sense into these people and expose newt for who he really is they just mock you and ignore the evidence.

There are numerous videos on youtube exposing Newt for the progressive that he really is. If he by some chance wins the nomination and beats obama we are in for another 4 years of mediocre governing by a progressive hell bent on making Govt the answer to all problems...thus continuing the giant growth of the federal govt until it all falls apart in a giant civil war.

“The institution of the family is the key issue facing this great nation. It is the foundation, the bedrock, upon which every dimension of Western Civilization rests,” he said.

Correct. That is why it would be a shame if the politician that gave us the first gay marriage laws -- Mitt Romney -- won the Republican nomination with the help of Dobson.

Well....at least he likes WOMEN!

As opposed to “he who cannot be accused” that we’re currently stuck with who reportedly does not prefer women.

Sigh.

We know Newt cheated on his wife. Got that. Old news. He says he's sought forgiveness for it, and I don't see any reason to doubt it.

What we don't know, however, is that Newt went far beyond "mere" adultery to actually asking his wife if he could make their marriage...more inclusive. That is the accusation, and it's one that his ex-wife hasn't proven.

Again, in America - which is apparently where you don't come from - you actually need evidence before someone is presumed or proven guilty.

Frankly, I think Newt should stonewall the whole thing. Just ignore it, say it’s old news and shut up about it. The attention span of most folks these days is only about from one sound bite to another.

Newt needs to come out strong today to Defend Traditional Marriage and condemn the Ex-Wife for being an outright liar.

I’d advise not... I’d suggest an approach along the lines of ... I am not going to speak of specifics regarding my previous marriage but will say I have made mistakes in my life and I have asked the Lord to forgive and allow me to be a better person and husband. I pray that I’ve done that and know Calista will so attest. As for my ex-wife, I will denigrate her as I believe what happens in one’s marriage should remain between them and I hold no ill-will towards her and wish a happy life for her.

He would come off looking much better than her... and she will look like a bitter ex... and what percentage of voters don’t have one of those?

Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones have documentation that they were sexually involved with Bill Clinton.

This lady comes on the scene, out of the blue, claiming that Newt Gingrich asked for an Open Marriage!

Does this lady have any evidence that she was married to Newt and that Newt asked to fool around? Does she have a letter from Next or even an email with Newt demanding an Open Marriage?

No, she has nothing!

How can you trust a person who cheats on his wifes (plural)?

More so than you can trust a man that attended Planned Parenthood fundraisers and gave the nation the first gay marriage laws.

Trying to love two women is a long, hard ride, and it tires the mind. And a lot else, LOL.

Dude, who needs evidence when you've got a nice, nasty accusation to spread around about a candidate you don't support?

Seriously, how long you been on FR, anywise?
