Glenn to pro-Gingrich caller: “Throw my books away”
Glenn Beck Website ^ | January 19, 2012 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 01/20/2012 7:37:34 AM PST by Bevo

A caller called in and accused Glenn of drinking the “Mitt Romney Kool-Aid” and let’s just say that it did not go over well at all. The caller, clearly pro-Gingrich, got an earful from Glenn over his statements. While he was a fan who claimed to have all of Beck’s books, he clearly hadn’t read or listened to anything Glenn has said over the past few months and years.

“I’m drinking the Mitt Romney Kool-Aid by saying that I would vote for Rick Santorum?” Glenn asked.

As the caller tried to say that Glenn went after Gingrich’s anti-Romney ads, Glenn told him those attacks were full of “lies”. And when he finally admitted to the fact that he was pro-Newt, Glenn lost it.

“Throw my books away. I’ve obviously not influenced your life at all. I want you to throw every book I’ve written, throw it away,” Glenn said. “If you haven’t learned what a progressive is, throw them away. You never will.”

“Look, is there anything that’s more important to learn from me, and if you disagree, then you disagree. But is there anything more important to learn from me in the last few years than the evils of progressivism? The evils of Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt and Andrew Jackson.”

“Because Newt Gingrich disagrees with me,” Glenn told the caller.

AdvertisementWhen the caller tried to tell him everyone had a flaw, Glenn told him to get off the phone.

“This is ridiculous. They all have their flaws. Have you even listened to a word of this show in the last two years about character making a difference, about the truth has no agenda, that you have to let the chips fall where they may; that you can’t dismiss warning signs, that you have to take people at face value on what they actually do and say?”

“That is a guy who is an absolute blind supporter of Newt Gingrich,” Pat said.

What the heck has gotten into Glenn? He said the other day that if Gingrich won the nomination he'd vote 3rd party.

If you don’t buy the books, you won’t have to throw them away.

Beck left on the happy train quite a while ago. He has a real hate for Gingrich and I’m pretty certain he isn’t all there. All of that crying and emoting he does is not normal for anyone.

“Throw my books away. I’ve obviously not influenced your life at all.”

What an arrogant sob. He is a radio talk show host, a paid entertainer. He thinks he “should influence someone’s life”??

Really??

Glenn’s research on progressivism is invaluable, and he is about 80% dead on, but he has blinders on in relation to the situation and cannot work through it critically.

If he really thinks Romney is any less of a progressive than he claims Newt to be, then he is of little worth as a commentator. Romney’s strength is that he understands business and can implement a far better agenda to grow the economy and jobs than Obama. As an elected official, his record is to the left of almost any other Republican in the past three decades. He’s a northeastern progressive republican. In fact, he’s a poster child for that description.

I predict in another 5 years people will be asking “Who was Glenn Beck?”

Being a nut is one thing, but he’s self-destructing.

Glenn wants a moderate to win or Obama to win,,,

...so he can continue with his doomsday speeches of society collapsing, and help boost his sales profits from gold and survival supply sales....

I didn’t hear it, but sounds very familiar, the same way he treated the Constitutionalists on air, very very viciously, when callers would challenge him on Barry Soetoto’s NBC status. Likewise ALL talking heads and guests on FAUX news, Rush and Levin and other included!!!

I thought he was “self destructing” a long time ago when I stopped watching his TV show.

He’s become so self-righteous after the end of his drinking and sloth days that he thinks everyone needs to be perfect just like he is (and he is, right?). He’s become delusional. It’s a classic over-reaction that converts have.

Glenn Beck is a Mormon who only cares about electing a mormon.

That is why Beck switches opinions every 5 minutes.

Beck will never say anything bad about Romney because they are both Mormons.

Glenn who? Oh you mean that guy that used to have a show on Fox before he went too far into the crazy Art Bell territory and they finally had the courtesy to put him out to pasture. Last I heard he was hosting an Internet subscriber only show... Well I guess its still one step above selling time shares on late night TV...

Beck lost me about a year ago when he began putting himself out there as a Prophet, Priest, and King on all things political, moral and importance. He has valid views and concerns, but when he becomes the all that ends all... welllll, I just started tuning him out, and my life is just as good as it ever has been... I like him better when he’s jesting and poking fun at politicians...

Just a “What if”..... say we combined the DNA of Glen Beck and Ron Paul and created a new person. What would the new person’s followers be like?

His show has become unlistenable.

Yes it has, and it became that way quite a while ago. I used to listen to his radio show, and I even subscribed to GBTV for a month and a half out of curiosity. His radio show has become a three hour long childish radio advertisement for GBTVwith truly idiotic humor thrown in by those Pat and Stu. I cannot listen, it insults my intelligence. GBTV, on the other hand, was deplorable and the content not worth a plug nickle.

Beck is, as always, a Romneybot. He realizes that this would be unpopular with his conservative listeners so he says some favorable things about the non-viable Santorum in order to cover himself.

I've come to the conclusion that the left, regrettably, was actually right about Glenn...

He is f**king nuts.

Interestingly enough, Glenn’s behavior is very much like many Christians who learn about what Mormon theology really teaches.

They become so fixated on the fact that Mormon theology is so radically different from orthodox Christian theology that it constitutes a different religion...

combined with the fact that both groups use the same words to describe very different concepts and the attendant temptation so see this as duplicitous...

and you wind up with ridiculously hyper aggressive Christian apologists making fools of themselves because they forgot Mormons are by and large good and honorable people.
