AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

If you read McCain’s Opposition Research file on Romney ... there’s a really ood reason why he can’t articulate conservatism. I doubt Rush thinks Romney can move right, but he’s trying not to bash any particular candidate, just as he won’t endorse.

Boy Rush is sure saying that now! I missed the first half hour or so but I could have about written the script for what I hear in his monologue. We see Newt as the standard-bearer of the conservative message, and he communicates it with gusto, power, and positive energy. That’s what we’ve been waiting to hear, and that’s why many of us were behind Palin, Cain, and others who are great communicators of the conservative vision.

“This time we need a Newt who already knows where the bathrooms are, where the buffets are, where the extra foldin chairs are.

This time we need a process insider to flush out the McLettuce asshats in our party”

LOL! Yup...and that Newt knows and can do. Praying Newt keeps steady. The day after the SC primary, WH comment was (sorry, no source): Newt excels as an underdog, but he can’t handle success.

I knew what the Dem meant. Praying Newt stays smart and keeps steady. He can win this.

I agree...McCain was too giddy to tell America a “you have nothing to fear of a President Obama.”

How many times has Myth prefixed a jab at Obama with, “but he is a nice guy.”

Same difference.

“You KNOW how they would react to a technology that was not around at their time, and situations they didn’t face at that time?”

I’m not so sure that you are intending to tout the left’s “the constitution is a dead document” argument, so I will just assume that it is monday and you are reacting to one single situation. (”The Rand Paul Political stunt.”)

I hold the view that the US Constitution is timeless. If the founders thought that there would never be technological advances, then they would have said, “Citizens shall be free from unreasonable search and seizure while traveling by foot or horse.”

Yet, they didn’t limit the enumerated rights to any particular technology, situations, etc. In fact, I am certain that they KNEW that there would be continual change and that their words were written to withstand the changes over time. Sadly, we have less and less people willing to stand up for their words, so we end up with the “living constitution.”

The result is that we have the Feds in every aspect of our lives, and they still want more!

” People like Rick Perry as an advocate for the 10th amendment or Sarah Palin and other like minded conservatives in her age group as national leaders in training. “ <<<

I so agree that what you said is a given. I took mountains of heat in my criticism of Palin, but you make my point so much better. Sarah is already improving but last year at the time when I was trying to say what you just did and better—that she was not a Finished Product.

I started out as a Rick Perry supporter. I concluded once again that my own candidate, Rick nor his original campaign were a Finished Product either. It doesn’t take long for me to read tea leaves on reality. After Rick’s rocketing annoucement the whole dang campaign thing went on silent running. Outrageous! A collosal fail. Then, the MASTER rolled out. >> NEWT.

Newt can take these sincere bull horn wannabes and put the polich and finish on them, IF they are willing to be discipled. Rick has jumped at the chance. Obviously Sarah likes Newt, and it remains to be seen for sure if she will put the chip on her shoulder down and be willing to be taught anything. She got mileage on being rogue after all. Newt can refine these two patriots and offer them a chance at refining their natural abilities and amplify their charisma and personality in order to broaden their appeal.

I must be listening to different Rush program. I hear him calming the elite, telling them why we vote Newt, and that it isn’t Newt we like, but rather him standing up for conservative principles. That we have a long way to go, etc. and if the other candidates would just stand up, they could win too.

“.....Again, what an opportunity.”

Exactly. And Rush is giving Newt a lot of really good advice, especially the fact that he needs to realize that he’s not out of the woods yet and concentrate on articulating conservatism, which is WHY he’s winning so far. He needs to plainly show us that he REJECTS making any compromises with Leftists like the global warming crowd, individual mandate crowd, etc., etc., because these are areas in which people hold doubts about his true “conservatism”. Being able to flawlessly articulate it, and actually believing in it, are two different things. He needs to convince people that he means it.

Again, with respect to travel, I point to current jurisprudence, which whether we like it or not, is what controls what is and is not Constitutional. This stunt does nothing toward changing any of that.

That said, I was not touting the Constitution was a dead document line, I was responding to someone’s comments about missing x, y, z historical figures, with specific references to actual events during their lives. It’s faulty logic to ASSUME we know how anyone would react in any situation, and to say historical figure x, y, z would react this way or that in a given situation with today’s parameters is such a nonsensical debate to have as it can neither be proven nor disproven because the fact of the matter is we, as humans, think of the world as we see it today, not as our great grandchildren will see it in the future.

I’m listening to the same Rush you are. For some reason, Rush believes that merely articulating conservative positions is enough. That if Romney would do that, he’d be acceptable regardless of how he would govern. Words DON’T mean things. Deeds do.
