You’re grammatically right about “A kudos” rather than “Some kudos.” “Kudos” is one of those uncommon singular English words that ends in a single “s.” Usually English puts “ss” at the end of such words (e.g. hiss, boss) but kudos was borrowed from Japanese in the 20th century.
