He only appears to tilt towards Santorum sometimes because it's safe for him to do. Santorum is considered to be a conservative by many but has no chance to win the nomination. If Rush is in the tank for anybody at this point it's Newt Gingrich. He's trying not to make it obvious.
There's NO way Rush would choose Romney over Newt (at this point).
Now if some porn video comes out with Newt and Pelosi or Newt saying something on tape such as "I cannot believe everybody including Rush Limbaugh actually buy everything I say. If only they knew I voted for Clinton both elections" or something devastating... Rush likes Newt. I can tell.

You’re probably right. I actually believe Rush when he says he’s not supporting anyone openly because as soon as the party coalesces around their candidate, the Obama/Soros people will release Hell on him. I know he’s had Newt on. I don’t remember if he had Romney.

I think Coulter is the only one who actually said that, but she can't possibly believe it. Even the RINO types pretty much snicker at her whenever she says it. They are either bought off or they agree with Romney on some secret non-conservative agenda he might have like appointing Supreme Court justices who will institute gay marriage.
Actually I think it is position (=$$$$) rather than party.
