Marco Rubio Says Some Conservatives ‘Harsh and Intolerable’ On Immigration By Liz Goodwin | The Ticket

"For those of us who come from the conservative movement, we must admit that there are those among us who have used rhetoric that is harsh and intolerable, inexcusable," Rubio said at a conference for the conservative Hispanic Leadership Network. "We must admit, myself included, that sometimes we've been too slow in condemning that rhetoric."

Rubio, a Republican senator to Florida who is often floated as a potential vice presidential nominee for the party in 2012, was interrupted by two protesters raising awareness about the Dream Act, which would provide legal status for illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as children and attend college or serve in the military. "Why don't you support undocumented immigrants? Please help us," one young man yelled, as members of the crowd booed. Rubio shouted from the podium that he wanted the two young men to be able to stay and hear him out, as security at the event quickly escorted them away.

"These young people are very brave to be here today," he said. "They had the bravery and the courage to raise their voices."

Rubio has said he will stay neutral during the primary, though he intervened on Mitt Romney's behalf when Newt Gingrich ran radio ads calling Romney "anti-immigrant." Rubio said the ads were inflammatory, and the Gingrich campaign quickly announced it would pull them.

Rubio didn't specify which conservatives he thought were using harsh immigration rhetoric in his speech. In a Republican presidential debate in October in Las Vegas, Rick Perry and Romney used the word "illegals" 10 times to refer to illegal immigrants, which is considered a dehumanizing term by immigration advocates.

Marco Rubio’s ropas were strewed
By strong winds that left him quite nude.
..A cop came along,
..And unless I am wrong,
You expected this line to be rude.

Rubio, get a clue. Some people are highly intolerant of lawbreakers whatever their race. And asking those people to be tolerant is not very tolerant of you.

And people are more sensitive about this issue because of high unemployment.

If they are here illegally, they are NOT immigrants, they are illegal aliens. If anyone is offended by those words, too bad.

As for Marco Rubio, he’s becoming a huge disappointment.

So speaking in plain non-PC language when discussing wetback invaders is “Harsh and Intolerable”?

Does that apply to all of them, or just the La-Raza reconquista clique?

Is it OK to call them illegals if they are white europeans?
What about orientals and middle eastern?
Taliban infiltrators?

Know what, never mind, I’m not going to follow their PC handbook anyway.
Deport all ILLEGALS, regardless of where they originate from, NO exceptions.

Rubio just flushed any chance of higher National office down the toilet

I doubt it. I think Newt and Romney would both have him high on their VP lists.

If we let the 'immigration' advocates dictate the language, then we might as well just give up. How Orwellian can it be, someone actually used the term illegals to describe illegals.

And the odds are that Rubio is a close pro-amnesty pol, and he's just dancing around the issue to avoid offending any group for now.

The more I hear from ‘’Latino’s’’ (Mexicans, Cubans, etc) the more I’m convinced they’re racists who have turned their native lands into crap-holes they run away from and now they’re turning America into one big Balkanized crap-hole where Spanish will replace English and we will be the premier crap-hole in the world.

Well, I’m against third world socialism for the entire U.S., and amnesty for illegal immigration will end any serious opportunities for a quick and healthy return to U.S. capitalism.

Deport all ILLEGALS, regardless of where they originate from, NO exceptions.

That is the only way we can keep what’s left of our national sovereignty. So who can we support for POTUS?

Sad but true. With over 1 million Hispanics in FL it not too long before this state will turn blue (It went for Obama in 2008) and then all is lost. Even before the election begins the Rats will have CA , NY (large immigrant populations), WA, MA, OR, and CT, in the bag! This nation is now kaput.

So, is Rubio speaking as a Hispanic-American, a Latino-American, a Cuban-American, or is he speaking as an American?

It has to do with "humanity" and compassion, not the Rule of Law. Gingrich is advocating amnesty as are many in the GOP establishment. I watched Rubio's speech and it is discouraging that even he is calling the illegals undocumented and advocating for more guest workers while 22 million Americans are looking for fulltime employment.

The latest data show 22.1 million immigrants holding jobs in the U.S. with an estimated 8 million being illegal aliens. By increasing the supply of labor between 1980 and 2000, immigration reduced the average annual earnings of native-born men by an estimated $1,700 or roughly 4 percent. Among natives without a high school education, who roughly correspond to the poorest tenth of the workforce, the estimated impact was even larger, reducing their wages by 7.4 percent. The reduction in earnings occurs regardless of whether the immigrants are legal or illegal, permanent or temporary. It is the presence of additional workers that reduces wages, not their legal status.

The Bureau of Labor statistics for December 2011 show a national unemployment rate of 8.5 percent, including 15.8 percent for blacks and 11 percent for Hispanics. 22 million Americans are seeking full-time employment. Despite the economic downturn, the U.S. continues to bring in 125,000 new, legal foreign workers a month. This includes new permanent residents (Green Cards) and long-term temporary visas and others who are authorized to take a job. This makes no sense.
