Confirmed: Romneycare = Obamacare

The Beacon Hill Institute study found that, on average, Romneycare:

•    cost the Bay State 18,313 jobs;

•    drove up total health insurance costs in Massachusetts by $4.311 billion;

•    slowed the growth of disposable income per person by $376; and

•    reduced investment in Massachusetts by $25.06 million.

And remember that RomneyCare relied on FedGovCare as a sturdy crutch: “He also noted the state’s health-care costs have been heavily subsidized by billions of dollars in federal aid through a Medicaid waiver program.”

. . .had a few Republicans telling me I am not being rational by preferring Newt over Romney. One of them I used to offer a ride home to as I go his way. Friday he walked home in the rain.

Oh, that is good/lol. I just picked up paper and saw Ann Coulter's column: Romney is the True Conservative Really enough to make one scream. . .

. ..thought to myself; I really AM going to get rid of her books, that I bought over the years. Did not read them, for most part; just wanted to support a 'good Conservative' telling the truth about Libs./

I will give them to Good Will; however; in case a now favored Liberal; decides to hear what she had to say about them; when she was still honest.

Who knew then; she hated the 'outside the Beltway'/and so non-establishment Repubs; as much as she hated Liberals.

(Save when we bought her books, that is. Seems we were good for something.)

'......Check out "Clear Channel", who owns it and who it owns. It will explain a lot.

I saw that yesturday and wanted to throw mud! No wonder Bain story went flat....the pundits are owned and Romney bots like it or not.. they are bought and paid for.

It all boils down to "show me the money"....they're all selling out!

I like Rick a lot .

Rick went back to PA and hopefully we will do what Perry did and put the country first and if he does can you imagine the enormous respect Rick would get if he drops out now and helps Newt?

I really hope this is what Rick will do and tell his voters to remember Govt health care and the judges Romney has put on the bench, the social issues where Romney and establishment now have given up .

Its not the same. One is a states rights issue, one is not. Even if the law was exactly the same - word for word. I don’t like either law, however a state has a lot of power. I dont feel a state has a right to mandate things but the state mandate things all the time. You must have a drivers license, gun license (in nj), you must pay your property tax, etc. However everything is still optional. You are not mandated to have a gun or a car but your not mandated to live in MA either.

the establishment has pulled out all the dirty tricks to beat the conservatives.

They have been taking 2,200 tickets in the last debate out of 3,000 and putting their stoogies on there, they have been lying like mad and helping Romney, they have been getting to some on talk radio and the websites , they have been buying off reps to back their RINO.

Seems them living up in the north east and the beltway and going to their elitist cocktail, cross dressing , homosexual parties and taking money off the queer groups is more important than the base of the party now.
They do not want Newt because they know they cannot control him, they know he will shake things up, he will stop their little elitist circles and he will fight the left and call a spade a spade or in this case a socialist is a socialist.

Not one of her pals or family likes what Romn ey has done there and when she watched the debate and hear RINO say people like it I thought she was about to dive in to the TV, EEK

Am I to understand that the plan is destroying Mass’ economy in terms of jobs and investment and MASS HASN’T EVEN BEEN PAYING FOR IT? IT’S BEING SUBSIDIZED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? SO THE IMPACT WILL BE EVEN WORSE WHEN THEY HAVE TO BEGIN PAYING THEIR OWN BILLS?

My thought was ‘how clever’ of them to get Floridians on their team early. If Pam were doing same job; say in, a state ; not a challenge to Mitt; doubt she would be asked to play. Florida; OTOH. . .It did sound like a ‘pay to play’ albeit; Pam seem not to notice the scratchy notes; that underscored her support for Mitt and ‘Romneycare’. . .

You would be correct about that—read it and weep:

In a subsequent story that same month the Globe reported that Commonwealth Care faced a short-term funding gap of $100 million and the need to obtain a new three-year funding commitment from the federal government of $1.5 billion

From the same source as above—consider the source on the first comment, and then the second:

In June 2011 a Boston Globe review concluded that the healthcare overhaul “has, after five years, worked as well as or better than expected.”[45] A study by the fiscally conservative Beacon Hill Institute was of the view that the reform was “responsible for a dramatic increase in health care spending,” however.[46]
