CALIFORNIA: Supreme Court validation of maps could give Democrats two-thirds Senate majority
Sacramento Bee ^ | 1/28/12 | Jim Sanders

A California Supreme Court ruling Friday significantly raised Democratic Party prospects of gaining the supermajority needed in the state Senate to pass tax or fee increases.

The high court decided that Senate maps drawn recently by a 14-member citizens commission will be used for this year's legislative elections, even if a pending referendum qualifies for the ballot.

The decision brought certainty for dozens of prospective Senate candidates awaiting final adoption of the maps as they begin their campaigns. And it offered the commission at least temporary validation that it performed its job as the voters intended.

Political analysts of both parties agree that the commission-drawn lines give Democrats a good chance of capturing the two seats necessary to give them a two-thirds supermajority in the Senate by December.

California Republican Party Chairman Tom Del Beccaro told The Bee this week that retention of the new lines would make it "enormously difficult" to keep Democrats from a Senate supermajority.

Just helped my daughter move out of the state last weekend. She’ll be saving $500 month in taxes alone.

If they get a supermajority in the California Senate, the state will enter bankruptcy in the next 2-3 years.

If Obama get re-elected, the rest of the country will bail them out and absorb their debt.

I don’t want to live in the same country with these people anymore. Wonder what the map of North America will look like at the end of the 21st century.

Why not let the liberals have their way with California and let them finish off the state.

So what if they take 2/3 majority? The people who elect the liberals will deserve what they get. Let them self-destroy. Perhaps then, when they’re left hopeless and bankrupt and with companies leaving in droves, and people moving out, the people left will realize how dumb liberal government is.

I sometimes wonder if having Obama win a second term wouldn’t be “good” for the country, since, it would, in the end, be a shock to all Americans, and they’d end up hopeless and learning some very huge lessons which many have refused to learn. Only when the whole country gets that feeling of hopelessness, will the country start towards sanity and the elimination of programs and people who have ruined the country.

I hate to say it but it’s time to go. I’d love to stay and fight but there’s no way to fight when they control everything.

And in the 2010 census illegals were of course counted and are making a significant impact in the new California apportionment maps.

"Supreme Court validation of maps could give Democrats two-thirds Senate majority"

And THEN, 'you reaps what you sow!' Only more of it with less resistance.

Kalifornia heading to its REAL bottom, sooner than later.

Nord, what are you going to fight?

As an example, the government just canceled a contract they had with Northrop, ending another countless number of jobs. We can't call our Congressmen or women as they approve of the move.

In fact, we have only a handful of Congress people to turn to if we need our voices heard but, since they hold no power in our state government, it stops there. All we can do is complain. They have redistricted us out of relevance.

Sorry,

Kalifornia is lost, anyway.

Between the illegals and the parasites and sex deviates, the decent folks are leaving, businesses are leaving, and the cities are havens for tribes of various persuasions.

We need "The Big One" to make it detached from the U.S.A.

No loss at all.....

It’s one thing to stay and fight a fire in the kitchen, but it’s another thing entirely to stay and fight when the flaming house is crashing down upon your head. Good luck.

people interested in liberty stay in failed leftist states to “fight on” while the leftists themselves move on to destroy a new state. almost funny. purely observation. not minimizing your contribution.

The thing to do now is to ensure they don’t receive a federal bailout. make them suffer the consequences of their actions.
