A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted Sunday night of likely Republican voters in the state of Florida shows a significant surge for Newt Gingrich.

The poll has Mitt Romney leading with 36 percent of voters, followed by Gingrich at 31 percent.

The Sunday results of 646 likely GOP voters are as follows: Romney 36 percent Gingrich 31 percent Santorum 12 percent Paul 12 percent Other/Undecided 9 percent "The race will be tighter than expected," Matt Towery, chief pollster of InsiderAdvantage told Newsmax.

Towery noted that his poll showed a surge for Romney on Wednesday, with him leading Gingrich by 8 points. The InsiderAdvantage poll was among the first to show Romney's resurgence after his dismal showing in the S. Carolina primary.

The InsiderAdvantage poll was also the first to show Gingrich's rise in S. Carolina and accurately forecast his win there.

"The trend is favoring Gingrich," Towery said, noting that while Romney's lead was still outside the margin of error of 3.8 percent, "It's not by much.".........

What is Newt doing...calling out Romney because he is “rich” and ridiculing the self-deportation plan on Univision?

Newt crossed the line — he is smart but he is in it for himself. Otherwise, why attack Romney for his wealth...and why ridicule a policy of self-deportation (note— self-deportation is working and it is a great idea. Reduce the demand for illegal aliens and they will go away.)

Why did Newt do the global warming ad with Pelosi? Because he is trying to make a living at being a politician. Ergo, he can be bought. He has been bought.

...and the GOP-e put Jeb in the race...

Haven't the filing dates already passed for many of the primaries? How would they get Bush on those ballots if Gingrich beats Romeny in Florida?

“Rick Santorum’s children, and ALL of our children, need the best, and that would be Rick Santorum. It’s way too early for anyone to drop out, and Rick’s not a quitter. “
___________________________________________________

The problem for Rick going forward is that rather than imploding, NEWT win or lose is now a CAUSE. Newt is REBELLION personified. Santorum is simply still a young pol.

Personally, I believe Rick suffers from either clinically proportioned arrogance, or looks like a vulture waiting to for Newt to die off, or Rick is simply a tool of the Establishment for Romney.

Rick got a gimme in Iowa.
Rick seems obsessed with Iowa filling up his small pail of credibility, and never mentions that Romney threw $3 million against Newt, (like an injection for Santorum) so who the heck was really left for conservative Iowans to vote for? It was Romney & Uncle Nutty, OR ELSE. Rick was but barely “OR ELSE”, this after a year in the weeds up there.

Florida is IT.

Look--he's running for the nomination and there's a crucial primary coming up. The world doesn't stop in its tracks because you have a sick child. You don't stop functioning, you don't abandon your campaign in midstream and expect to just pick up where you left off some time in the future. That's absurd. You continue to function. You deal with it. That' s it.

I don’t think so. Let’s ask Jim Robinson.

"Get the picture. One big happy family."

We bought a new house 5 years ago and a young Mormon couple bought one right next door. We have to blow out our sprinkle systems in the winter to keep them from freezing. Our son-in-law would rent a compressor and would blow out some homes for a minimal fee and he did theirs also for 4 yrs. Last year we went in with our son-in-law and bought a compressor. This year I went next door to let them know he would be blowing out on the weekend and she said, "Oh we already had ours done. A friend of ours went into business so we had him do it."

Like you said, one big happy family.

Jeb Bush did not say “no” in today’s interview. He explained about a brokered convention. Denied the
“Republican Party” had asked him to run, when asked if *they* had asked him to. Didn’t name and wasn’t asked a follow up on that, interesting enough. You know several have surely asked him to get in at some point. Said he might endorse after Florida. We’ll see about that. What was his 5 PM visit to Obama with dad, at the WH all about? Given we are in a primary, I found that curious. Old Guard tactics. Probably to warn Obama he was doing an interview and would be giving him a semi-hard time in it.

I’m supporting Santorum, but Newt is my 2nd favorite, and Newt took the high road at the beginning, which was very classy.

Then when Romney spent $millions smearing Newt, Newt fought back. But yes, I also think that Newt made a mistake by attacking Romney for his wealth, and Newt probably realizes it was a mistake, too, now, but we can’t blame Newt for fighting back in other ways.

Good that you can identify with Newt- likely makes the process much more exciting and challenging for you- a good thing.

"Here’s a link to the scene from Scent of a Woman where Al Pacino gives his “If I was the man I was 5 years ago, I’d take a flamethrower to this place!”

"I think that’s the attitude Newt needs to have towards DC. He needs to show that passion that he’s going to root out the establishment-of both parties. That he’s running to give power back to the people, not to the elites. He’s not running so the same old crowd that was in charge under W can come riding back in. He’s running so a brand new crowd can saddle up and ride herd. He’s not running to return the establishment to power, he’s running to remove them from power and replace them."

That is exactly what he did at the Villages today where there was estimated to be about 4000 gathered. It was a terrific speech and a terrific crowd.

A ray of sunshine in a cloudy week I hope. Newt still has a ton of ground to make up. Hopefully a lot of Santorum support and soft Willard support shift his way in the next 36 hours.

Look, Newt has NEVER been *bought*, while in office! He has done more for Republicans than anyone in history I can name.

What he did to fund his several little think tanks when out of office, as a private citizen, is quite different.

The scorched earth against him tells YOU that he was not bought, was unmanageable by the powers in DC, and will be again when he places his boot once again right into their inseam.

Don’t blame Rick, if Newt can’t do better. We stronger conservatives believe in personal responsibility.

I’ll say this, I don’t expect to see Matt Fudged put up this headline anytime soon. No, I don’t expect to see the phrase “tighter than expected” show up on Drudge’s site unless he’s writing a blog entry about Matt Rhoades, David Brock, or Alec Baldwin.

I like Rick, but I won’t vote for him in a primary. He’s not a fiscal conservative in my eyes.......But right is not the time for campaigns. He doesn’t need to do anything right other than be with his family.

My prayers go out to Rick and his wife and children in this hour of need. Little Bella is already a miracle of God as most children born with Trisomy 18 rarely live more than a few months. I pray for her recovery. If it’s not to be, the I pray Bella goes peacefully and painlessly to be with God and Jesus and that God grants the Santorum family the strength and peace of mind to get through their loss.

No, the campaign doesn’t pay for calls because of the probability opponents’ supporters will tie up those lines if they are free to the public.

You can go to Walmart - and do one of 2 things: get a prepaid cell phone - I forget the name of the one they offer - and they also have different prepaid LD calling cards. There is an excellent prepaid card for $45, which is 30 days’ of unlimited LD calling. You can share this with friends, each of you pay a portion, and then share it. They send you the PIN# by email, and you just have to be sure only one of your group is using it each day.

If you don’t have a cell or LL, you might want to think about either of these options, because it is going to be a long campaign, and these phone banks nationally do make a big differencep; plus the instate people love getting calls from out-of-staters, and calls from real people and not the robo ones.

here is the link again - I didn’t label it before - phone banks for Newt, and you get a little script, but have a lot of leeway to take the conversation whichever way you feel is most productive.

Paul is a real problem. He has made his point. If he is as really against the establishment like he claims, then he should consider closing ranks, get out, and endorse.

LOL, Paul is not against the establishment. He is for his cult. He will do nothing to lower his profile.
