A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted Sunday night of likely Republican voters in the state of Florida shows a significant surge for Newt Gingrich.

The poll has Mitt Romney leading with 36 percent of voters, followed by Gingrich at 31 percent.

The Sunday results of 646 likely GOP voters are as follows: Romney 36 percent Gingrich 31 percent Santorum 12 percent Paul 12 percent Other/Undecided 9 percent "The race will be tighter than expected," Matt Towery, chief pollster of InsiderAdvantage told Newsmax.

Towery noted that his poll showed a surge for Romney on Wednesday, with him leading Gingrich by 8 points. The InsiderAdvantage poll was among the first to show Romney's resurgence after his dismal showing in the S. Carolina primary.

The InsiderAdvantage poll was also the first to show Gingrich's rise in S. Carolina and accurately forecast his win there.

"The trend is favoring Gingrich," Towery said, noting that while Romney's lead was still outside the margin of error of 3.8 percent, "It's not by much.".........

Re: Your Post #144. I wonder if the Gingrich people have thought about making that offer to Santorum? That makes a lot of sense; Rick endorse Newt and they split the 50 Delegates and both are then ahead of RINO-Rom. But, is this a good time to “bother” the Santorums when they are dealing with a critically ill daughter? I dunno.......

So, you watched this ad and laughed your fanny off. Hmmmm..... I watched the ad twice; was not overly impressed. A waste of money if you ask me. There are more succinct and hard hitting ways he could have come at Romney. I doubt seriously this ad will affect the everyday, American out there who is not the political junkie you and I are. We understand it and like it, but to the average Joe, this is goobledy gook. The uninformed voter, watching this ad with one eye and listening with one ear will think it’s an ad for Romney saying that he never voted for a Democrat when there was a Republican on the ballot. Not, freakin’ good at all!!!

My faith in the American people is being vindicated. We are not a stupid people. Anyone with any brains can see that the Romney ads are lies. The people following him...(apparently a lot more on this forum than we realize. I wager almost 40%)...are not enthusiastic and couldn’t recite his message.

Another point unless the convention rules have changed. If memory serves, don't the states that were won by GOP in the previous election get twice as many delegates as those states won by dims?

Myth will only do well in liberal dim states.

I think seeing Calista there at his side with each speech is starting to resonate. I think it’s best that she says nothing....just be quiet....People close their eyes and they can picture her, esp that beak.

The other candidates you can’t conjere up an image of their family. NOt even Santorums.

I think Santorum is too narcissistic to drop out. Is there some way we can by-pass Rick and appeal to those who are voting for him. Maybe something like this on Rick’s Facebook and Twitter pages:

“Santorum Supporters in Florida: PLEASE....SAVE OUR GREAT NATION! Rick Santorum is a good and decent man, but he can’t win, this time, in Forida. His day will come, but it is not “this day”. But, his votes and Newt Gingrich’s votes combined to defeat the Progressive, Moderate Mitt Romney, is a victory for our nation and the Conservative cause. PLEASE consider voting for Newt Gingrich. Do not let the Liberals and the GOP Establishment steal this opportunity from us.”

If we win over half of Rick’s supporters, that will win it for Newt.

I guess all the scurrilous attacks are not working and hopefully getting ready to backfire. If they do, I won’t shed a tear for Mitt’s political future. He’ll be happier back in Massachussets, hob-nobbing with the Heinz Ketchup gigolo and assorted Kennedies.

NE influx into Florida (retirees) and illegal immigrants (not Cuban) have fed the Criminal Dem Vote.

Yes, they are criminal. They practice abuse of the law at every step. Are totally in contempt of election law.

OK is the only state where not a single county voted for Obozo to begin with. I am proud of OK. Lived there for 7 years. In Piedmont. Still have some connections to the state. My brother and I are assuming the operation of my father’s seed business. We recently joined an OK grain association and started doing business with OSU for seed source. We had purchased seed from them years before (I was not financially involved but made some trips there to help). Good people.

I traveled for a wholesale hardware distributor (2 actually) for 30+ years. At one point I traveled 11 states.

Of all the places we lived I liked the people of OK the best.

I would like to meet on the trail. There are a lot of trails between TX and OK.

Here in "early-voting" Florida, my pen hovered only briefly over Santorum—then I marked for NEWT!

:)

I’m supporting Santorum
_____________________________________________________________

I was also, after his win in Iowa. But, now I realize that he can’t win in FL and that a vote for Santorum is actually a vote for Romney and I’d have to kill myself if i ever helped put a Progressive, Moderate, Mean-spirited, Mormon in the White House who thinks that in eternity he is going to have his own planet. Dear God in heaven; I’d rather have Rev. Wright.

Don't forget that a lot of folks early voted, before the last debate. I did. Although the debate wouldn't have changed my mind, nor the onslaught of negative ads, some folks aren't as strong minded. Romney is thought to have the stronger "ground game" in that arena (early and absentee voters) but I wouldn't shut newt out of that one just yet. I love the Palin quote: RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, VOTE NEWT and VOTE AGAINST THE ESTABLISHMENT. Also the one she made about voting newt to annoy the liberals. LOL

The remaining Romneybots have gone underground to avoid the Zot. A quick check of posting history roots them out.
