I find it somewhat offensive, and buying into the Dem line that all R’s are racist, when we jump on the idea of running any minority who’s on our side. Herman Cain, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal. Every one has been mentioned for either POTUS or VPOTUS, not because they’re the most qualified for the job, but because they fit a certain demographic.

Cain’s elective political career is over, but let’s have Rubio serve a full term at least in the Senate before we push him for VP; let Jindal complete the job in LA before we talk about him. (I won’t get into their NBC status for now). R’s have to stop being so damned desperate to fill the slots through Affirmative Action.

The Obama/Rubio NBC situations are somewhat different, as I understand them. At least one of Obama’s parents was a US citizen. Neither of Rubio’s was.

Rubio was born on US soil.
Rubio was a CITIZEN AT BIRTH, and that is all that matters.

“Natural Born Citizen” means “Citizen at Birth”

Court cases prior to the 14th Amendment, and Court cases before the various, changing legislation on Citizenship, do NOT control in this matter. Those decisions are moot, as they were made with no Constitutional or Legislative guidance, as their was none.

Now there is guidance.

Look at a passport application, that is all you need to know about citizenship.

The Framers just wanted to prohibit NATURALIZED citizens from being POTUS. While the language they used was interpreted without Congressional guidance, at the time, NOW THEIR IS CONTROLLING CITIZENSHIP LAW and the Courts do not have to look at Common Law or Natural Law.
