Sarah Versus the 'Stalinists': Palin Targets Republican Politburo
The Nation ^ | January 30, 2012 | John Nichols

Posted on 02/01/2012 4:03:01 AM PST by Timber Rattler

Oh my, it looks like Sarah Palin might not be speaking at this year’s Republican National Convention.

Either that, or she will be the keynoter.

The party’s most recent vice-presidential nominee is now officially at war with Mitt Romney and Republican establishment figures—epic losers like Bob Dole and John McCain, epic spinners like Peggy Noonan and Ann Coulter—who have rallied to save the campaign of the fumbling frontrunner.

(snip)

What’s Palin’s play here?

She is not going for a top spot on Mitt Romney’s Christmas-card list.

But she may be going for something bigger.

By positioning herself as the champion of the party’s grassroots in a battle with an aging and out-of-touch establishment, Palin is staking a claim on the party’s heart and soul. It is she, not Gingrich, and certainly not Romney, who may be best placed to come out of a bitter nominating fight as the favorite of the delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa and of Tea Partisans who will need to be energized if Republicans are going to be viable in the fall.

Whatever the specifics, Palin is establishing herself as someone Romney is going to need. Indeed,if the eventual nominee does not bow to the Alaskan’s demands, it will be hard to unite an increasingly factionalized party. So Palin gets the upper hand, even if Gingrich loses.

And if Romney loses in November, well, then it is Palin who will be able to say “I told you so”—as she stokes speculation about a possible 2016 campaign.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

I believe Sarah Palin won’t ally herself with someone just because they have political momentum such as Romney, and with Romney buying each Florida delegate with an estimated $350,000 each I also doubt she would be comfortable with any nominee that relied up negative campaign strategies either.

If we could smell like a deer after the scent of doe
in heat, the stench over the GOP E, democrats
and city government corruption would be
unbearable and people would be properly advised to
stay away from these dangerous genocidal
fll born hating irratinal scums... heck, they would
stay away from each other.

They are in full enslavement genocidal mode and
we need to protect the sanctity of genuine brains, and not these savages who only use it as political predators who eat off of it.

Woo-hoo.

I’d really like to think Palin is somehow going to actually do something, rather than just throw political mudpies from the sideline.

I mean nothing wrong with throwing mudpies. But she has so much more potential than that.

Governor how about you figure a way to get back in this thing?

I am reminded of a scene from "O Brother, Where Art Thou."

"Campaign is languishing. Need a shot in the arm."

The fight is far from over. The BOHICA Party (GOP faction) is going down with Romney. And he insists he doesn’t need to court Conservatives. The campaign with Romney will be a joke, just like last time when McCain and 0bambi agreed on most issues.

Sometimes I feel like the nomination is an end unto itself for PUBs (see Bush 41, Dole, McCain and maybe Romney).

The Republicans are the Washington Generals in the Globe Trotters’ road show. They have already thrown the game just like last time.

We nweed to go from Tparty to expose the manure
smell of the “city”. It”s disgusting how the
,media plays the perfume and scramble the
scent game hypocritically. To willfuly blind people
like this, valuable good people, is genocidal.

Yesterday I talk to a democrat fanatic feminist,
and she does not care if her own family, herself
and her own son gets screwed over by that illegal
he foolishly married. For her it’s “you go girl”.

It’s how gender paranoiac and hateful pride these
racist envying paranos have become.

And come emotional “glamorous” media bull sh!t
election time, jews, blacks and others who have
second thought today about Zero will be fooled again.

It’s done like in Africa every day now in America.

Hey John Nichols! Nice ! Very nice piece of work. “Epic losrs like Bob Dole and John McCain...epic spinners like Peggy Noonan and Anne Coulter” I love it...Yhank’s Nation for publishing it...

I don’t know about the can I cum bye jas conclusion. Romney doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who seems to want to inlude conservatives in his mis. He didn’t reach out in his smear campaigns against Cain or Gingrich why should he do it he feels until Newt or Rick hand him a trashing. .

No doubt Barry would like to be the incumbent / reform candidate. Nowadays, the electorate is almost stupid enough to go for it.

IF Mittens gets the Nod—it will have been done on the bones of the Tea Party—I say we leave them high and dry. I propose that we Take The Vow!

Not One Red Cent to the GOP!

So long one is stupid, one can be black or gay etc...

It’s good in springtime. But even Does know how
to select. Not us, we live in winter and think
it is summer by paranoiac optimism.

I had a tree like that imported from australia. It was
fine sprucing up every winter except no bees were
there. However one winter it frosted and the tree
full of sap cracked open and died in a second.

This s the tale of the fate of fig trees that bear no fruit. they shrivel immediately.

They had to have their power tantrum. They appoint people instead of establishing a language. You do not buy warriors, you make them
if you are brave enough to inspire them.

It’s why we lose things like Iraq, the war on terror or drugs, on communists and vietnam.

Payback? For a few warm feel good words they have embraced the very winter that will kill them.
