Video of Teens Failing Miserably at a Civics Quiz Is So Depressing It’s Funny

Did you know that “bin Laden” is the vice president of the United States, or that the Civil War led to America’s independence? How about that Canada’s a state?

Well, that’s what some local students at (what appears to be) a Washington state high school think. In a video that’s probably a few hours from going viral, a young man decided to question classmates for a video called “Lunch Scholars.” It is anything but scholarly.

Agreed. America has indeed become second-rate. It’s just a matter of time until the reality of that fact trickles down far enough and all of us realize it.

History is not the only subject the young people are failing. Try listening to their atrocious use of the English language! “Him and I went fishing” or “Me and my Mom went shopping”

I spoke to my older sister about this last night and she confirmed that it is not just kids from the ghetto who do not understand sentence structure amnd pronoun useage. She informed me that she frequently had to talk to her grandchildren about such errors in the English language. She lectured them so often about how they would not get a job if they went to an interview with such poor speaking skills. Now whenever they ask her something with incorrect grammer, she looks at them and asks, “What???” They now know the “LOOK” that she gives them means to correct their sentence structure.

Our conversation led us into how today’s class rooms and teachers instruct the children. When I was a child, I don’t remember anyone speaking such poor English. If a child would speak poor grammar, he/she was corrected immediately and they would learn proper English. Now the rules seem to be that the poor dears cannot be corrected as that will demolish their fragile psyches.

How on earth has our society descended so low??? Liberalism!

Yeah, I know. “a” should have been “an”. My initial post was “What a maroon” but then I deleted maroon and replaced it with “idiot” and forgot to include the “n”.

My bad. Thanks for being a anal jackass. Appreciate it, Bro.

Amen.

Depressing as this is, it needs to go viral.
Off to send it out, and BTTT.

How many states? 51, 52, 50.

I was kind of surprised that no one said 57.

I am employed by a software house that specializes in video processing. That is supposedly "high tech". The youngsters here didn't know who Werner Von Braun was or what he did. There are plenty of supposedly educated folks who don't believe we landed on the moon.

Our Nation is indeed going down the tubes because the young people are ignorant.

I don’t think it’s their fault.
I think the left has purposefully dumbed them down to fit their agenda.

Here we have a picture of the first (and last) time our Dear Reader actually had an Original Thought in his head.

His eyes are closed and his brow is furrowed in concentration as he tries desperately ... vainly ... to hang on to that Original Thought. To nurture it. To develop it.

Alas, he failed. It died of loneliness.

Or ...

Maybe it wasn't an Original Thought after all ...

Maybe it was just a wisp of marijuana smoke.

“We've got the two countries of “Mexico” and “South America” at our border!”

How many countries do you think border the United States?

It is debatable that two would be the correct answer.

Kids from Africa or the Phillipines or Asia are incredibly hard working and are generally good students.

This does not surprise me at all.

In my store, I sell miniatures of famous buildings - including the US Capitol building.

Frequently I hear someone say to his/her companion "Oh look, there's The White House".

On more than one occasion the "knowledgeable" one is a teacher with a class in tow.

You mean... the 51 states... or the 52?
