Race for the Smear: A cancer charity gets a brutal lesson in abortion politics.
Wall St. Journal ^ | 2/3/12

'Politics have no place in health care," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement Thursday. That pronouncement may strike New Yorkers, who've spent a decade complying with Mr. Bloomberg's nanny-state mandates on smoking and trans-fats, as ironic. Most recently, his administration has come under fire for using fake photos of diabetic amputees in subway ads about the dangers of sweetened beverages.

But Mr. Bloomberg was referring to the one area of "health care" that he believes should be left to individual choice: abortion. He announced a personal donation of $250,000 to Planned Parenthood, America's leading abortion provider, in response to a breast cancer charity's decision not to renew its six-figure grants to the group.

Dallas-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure had given Planned Parenthood $580,000 in 2010 and $680,000 in 2011 to provide initial breast cancer screenings, and referrals for mammograms, biopsies and treatment, in 19 of its clinics. Komen attributed its decision not to re-up to its adoption of a policy barring grants to organizations under investigation by any branch of the government. A House subcommittee is looking into whether Planned Parenthood has violated the law by spending government money on abortions.

Planned Parenthood's supporters say the probe is politically motivated. As it is a Congressional investigation, that is a trivial truth. We suspect, in any case, that the investigation was a pretext—that Komen, whose mission is apolitical, dumped Planned Parenthood because it wished to escape involvement with abortion politics. After all, its ubiquitous pink ribbons and "Race for the Cure" marketing invite donations to cure cancer, not to support abortion providers.

Planned Parenthood is not about to let anyone escape without exacting retribution. With the help of allies in politics, the media and other advocacy groups, this week it undertook a vicious campaign against Komen

Still, the initial story about "government investigations" came up in a TV interview with one of Komen's disgruntled ex-employees.

As I've said before this thing will someday be revealed as one of those "we gots ta fire her 'cause she stole" stories with mutual "do not talk" agreements all around.

Komen's top management appear to have had no idea how unethical and immoral the people at PP are when they get caught.

They seem to have no idea how unethical the Democratic Party is, either.

Somehow, in the mind of Bloomberg, it doesn’t seem to constitute “politics” when 22 Dem Senators demand that the Komen Foundation restore the PP funding.

It certainly shows you how close is the relationship between Planned Parenthood and the Dems.

There is no difference between them. They are all the same people, and a lot of them are clearly mentally ill.

“Politics have no place in healthcare”...ay Bloomer?
Exactly the opposite is true when it comes to the tyrranical Dems, leftists, liberals and socialists. OBammyCare got politically shoved down Americas collective throats from Washington, DC. Bloomer is a typical LIEberal whose words cannot be trusted.

When 26 Democrat senators urge an organization (in this age of apparently unlimited federal power) to do something, it’s extortion. The threat is implicit in their urge to reconsider.

Planned Parenthood apparently received $363.2 million from the federal government in 2008-2009 and continues to receive hundreds of millions in our taxes. If those 26 Democrat senators, many who are no doubt multimillionaires, feel so strongly about women’s health, let them donate their OWN money to it. The same thing goes for all those women who attacked Komen over this. Donate your own money, thieves!

BTW, Planned Parenthood provides about 300,000 abortions per year to 3 million clients. Don’t ask me where they come up with this bogus 3% abortion figure. They are cherry picking their facts to minimize the abortion figure. It’s intentional deception, aka lying.

Mentally ill?

There can be no other explanation.

Politics has infested health care for decades!
- homo lobby removing homosexuality as a ‘disorder’ from the Diagnostic Manual in the 70’s
- banning DDT, condemning millions to malaria

Do I need to add the naked power grab of Obamacare?

Only the mentally ill could gaze upon the ruins of Detroit, NY, LA...ad nauseum...and pronounce their policies a success.

Tell me, this is a prolonged Twilight Zone episode, isn’t it?

Big brother has spoken it is now time to obey!

You will pay the taxes we deem fair or else!

You will donate to the causes we support or else!

You will provide abortion services regardless of your religious beliefs or else!

You will invest in the government run retirement system or else!

Yes, and abortion is the closest thing Dems have to a sacrament - Planned Parenthood is their church.

Yes, and it seems to me that it's perilously close to having the government itself give the order.
