Military Is Telling Catholic Chaplains What They Can And Can't Say About the Obama Administration
Business Insider ^ | Feb 3, 2012 | Michael Brendan Dougherty

The emerging conflict between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration may have a new front: in the U.S. military itself.

The Catholic Church is fighting mad about an HHS ruling that would have them buy insurance for things they consider sinful–contraception, sterilization and abortion.

All the bishops in the country sent out a letter to be read in their parishes promising that the Church "cannot-and will not-comply with this unjust law."

Even Archbishop Timothy Broglio, who is in charge of Catholic military chaplains sent out the same letter.

But after he did, the Army's Office of the Chief of Chaplains sent out another communication forbidding Catholic priests to read the letter, in part because it seemed to encourage civil disobedience, and could be read as seditious against the Commander-in-Chief.

More than one Catholic chaplain who spoke to us off the record confirmed that many chaplains disobeyed this instruction and read the letter anyway.

The letter also tries to clarify to priests that the Archbishop's letter "concerns a moral, not a political issue."

While it is true that soldiers do not have an unlimited right to free speech or political action, the military does not want to strain relations with the Catholic Church and its chaplains who provide services to many service members of all faiths.

I totally agree.

But with the current race to Shari or secularism, I fear what comes next.

The Burka or the Brothel.

Thanks hoosiermama. Good idea. I was getting ready to send off a blistering letter. I’ll send off a blistering e-letter instead. If my poor memory is correct, rumney was head of the pack before it began. Of course Rick Perry was number 1 for about 8 days then romney took over, then bachmann, then romney took the lead again and has been there ever since, according to the screaming media and the rnc.

Are you able to begin your garden yet? I’m starting a worm farm. I may send a couple to the rnc.

Another odd thing.

There was an SS lawyer who arrested and prosecuted many camp guards for killing Jews with out a warrant. He was a huge thorn in the side of Himmler, but they didn't do anything to him because he was applying the law.

It was in the book “Order of the Death's Head”.

We are closer to that place than I had ever feared.

I know one. They keep repeating he resigned in disgrace over some teachings he did. The FBI investigated the allegations, then wrote a 900 page report exonerating Newt,
saying the claims were false.

Send them two pennies too

Two pennies=
your two cents worth
Represent the Biblican woman who gave her last two coins

But if you send it with a request for money, it will trigger the computer to send you more forms.....and each time you send two pennies they must record them, which takes time and money.....If enough send them two pennies they’ll sooner or later get the message.....or go broke.

(evil smile)

Yelp identify the Alinsky step they are using and each time you see it mentioned on another board ((google) repeat your comment and add Alinsky Step #???

If you don’t have the attack steps look under search
TITLE:
HAVE YOU USED...
Or have I told you that already...If so pass the word so others know how they’re being manipulated.

I know what you mean. I live in very small town, and our church sometimes has 12 people, sometimes 7, the choir and piano player number 10, including the preacher, on Sundays. And the youngest member is probably 40 years old. It’s dying, and why? because our main line church is too pc. Makes me maddern’ a snort. They are all nice people and the temporary preacher is a gem, but they wonder why so few young people aren’t there. A lot of young people have moved away, the offspring of some of our members attend a penecostal church.

You must be thinking too hard: murder means illegal killing. My point remains - that disobedience is mandatory. “I was just following orders” does not work.

Nowhere man...not only sugar but tobacco, where can one smoke anymore, too much salt in the food, too many carbs in the school’s cafeteria and money machines, only lean meat is good for you, only certain oils are good, need I go on? Pretty soon they’re going to tell us which side of the bed to get out of.

You could agree to the unconstitutional censorship of religion to keep your job so that you could quietly minister the truth to our soldiers. I think that is a morally virtuous position for anyone willing to risk getting caught. The troops need pastors more than most people do. The beauty is that for Catholics, aven if a pastor is required to shut up, we all know that Rome is where to find the authoritative interpretation of scripture. This fact will serve mankind well when things get really bad - Rome has preserved and passed on the Truth for 2000 years and her predecessor Israel preserved it before then. Nobama and satans other friends won’t be able to defeat Christ’s Church headquartered in Rome - Hitler couldn’t do it, Napoleon couldn’t, Henry VII couldn’t, Castro couldn’t, the ChiComs can’t.

Amen!

Amen!

Amen!

That was the time George Bush #1 was president. If I remember correctly he couched a phrase which meant, “one world government”, at the moment I cannot recall exactly the phrase, but I know what it meant.

This issue (and eliminating the conscience clause for Catholic hospitals related to abortion and contraception) will go to the SCOTUS.

The 1st Amendment is a fundamental expressed right to freedom of religion that has always applied to Chaplains since the founding.

There is no fundamental (expressed or otherwise) right to have other people pay for your choice to use contraception, be sterilized, or kill your fetus. And I don’t think this SCOTUS will find one in some shadow or corner.

Let’s pray none of the good ones dies while obamaSatan is still in office.

Then they should be able to speak about the evil of forcing people to commit abortions.

Are they not allowed to also state factual information such as “The federal government is now forcing people to commit abortions”?
