Newt Gingrich will stay in the Republican presidential nomination contest despite an expected loss to Mitt Romney in Saturday’s Nevada caucuses, the former speaker told The Washington Times late Saturday afternoon.
“We had excellent fundraising meetings and calls yesterday,” Mr. Gingrich said. “Super Tuesday and beyond look good.”
The Georgia native thus dispelled rumors circulating in the press that his campaign had scheduled a press conference for late Saturday, after the results were in from the Nevada caucuses.
“We will probably be a solid second here with [Rick] Santorum in last place,” Mr. Gingrich said, while acknowledging indirectly that attracting donors and voters in sufficient force to overtake Mr. Romney will be a challenge in the coming weeks.

Newt is talking OVER THE MEDIA and making all the points he wants to while he has the attention of the American people. He knows exactly what he is doing. Going after Romneycare, Romney’s lack of conservatism, his dishonesty, the establishment, and why Romney won 2 debates. A debate coach! LOL!!! He is not having a meltdown. He is using the media moment to his best advantage.

Did you feel the same way about your Romney? he came out petty and on the attack, also whiny, when he lied many times?

And do it with a smile, and by using a little ridicule, but not nasty and not sarcastic. He needs to devise a response, practice delivering it, and then say that and nothing more. It’s when Newt goes rambling off down some bunny trail that he’s apt to step in it.
Nobody wants a President who is thin-skinned and can’t take it. We’ve already got one like that.

First, I think Newt mainly came out to say “I’m not quitting the race”. That was a negative to start.
Then he really overdoes explaining things away, like he didn’t do well in the last primary and debates because he was “astonished” that Romney is such a liar. I didn’t buy it.
Krauthammer just said “When he talks about America he’s great, when he talks about himself he’s awful”.

All you are doing is repeating the media spin and take on the press conference. Willard Your Worst Nightmare didn’t just shade the truth, or embellish, or misrepresent, he lied. And to be an acceptable candidate for President, you are supposed to take it all, shut up, or be cheerful about it - when it comes from Willard, that is. When Willard was vomiting all over Newt in IA, did you hear one media type complain how he was attacking, whining, a sore loser...
Did you hear Newt report tonight that the counties Newt won in Florida were the ones where turnout was increased, and Willard Your Worst Nightmare only won the counties where turnout was decreased.. I lived through Florida, nobody, nobody, nobody can tell me Willard is anything short of evil... and I am glad for what Newt did tonight...
everybody always complains about boehner, the prissy republicans, nobody fights, nobody takes it to ‘em, and when Newt does, he’s a sore loser. Decide what and who you are about. I am about a fighter... and Newt is a fighter. Stop being a baby.

They said weeks back that was part of what they were going to do—try and paint Gingrich as emotionally/mentally unstable.
Heck a Romney supporter was poking at that here today.
I think it a silly move because Romney doesn’t come across as the most stable himself. He also seems almost stiff and afraid of people. He seems to draw back. Very uncomfortable. He can’t wait for this campaigning and being around the people to be over. He just wants to be president.
There’s the funny word video dealy (the one like the Perry pretzels for the jet engines deal) of Mitt and at one point he slightly wraps his arms around himself and rubs, he wasn’t dressed any more lightly than the others and no others acted cold. No, Romney has some mental stuff—watch him.
Perry was the most at ease around people, shaking hands and just talking. Also, recall when Mitt put his hands on Perry? They are doing this to Newt on purpose, trying to make him doubt himself. When it is Mitt that is a mental defect.
Mitt has no business running this country, none.
