CPAC: Gingrich says he'll undo Obama legacy on day one
CBS News ^ | 2/10/2012 | Stephanie Condon

Newt Gingrich knows how to play to the base.

At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday, the GOP presidential hopeful said that, if elected, he would wipe out much of President Obama's legacy on his very first day in office.

-snip-

He said that "by the time President Obama lands in Chicago we will have repudiated at least 40 percent of his government on the opening day."

-snip-

"For the Republican establishment, managing the decay is preferable to changing the trajectory," he said. "This is the year to reset this country in a decisive, bold way. We are determined to rebuild America, not manage its decay."

Gingrich aligned himself the Tea Party and Ronald Reagan, which he said represented the "conservative movement" versus the "Republican establishment."

The Republican establishment, he said, doesn't "have the toughness, they don't have the commitment, and they don't have the philosophy necessary to build a majority in this country."

The next President doesn’t have the power to cancel laws that were passed by Congress unilaterally.

I agree, however most of the mandates issued by the current administration have been policy directives by Obama. That which is created by decree can be removed by decree. Issuing Executive Orders to revoke previous Executive Orders can be done with a stroke of a pen.

Every thing done at first will be by exuctive order. There is a lot that can be LEGALLY done and undone by exexcutive order. He also made some proposals that Congress can start on before the inaguration.

Regarding Congress/Senate, they don’t have the right, strong leadership to “guide” them to do better - yet. Newt has a proven track record of leading and “persuading”. And the main problem in that body is Harry Reid - with some luck, he’ll get kicked to the curb.

Congress/Senate are sheeple in many respects. They will fall in line with a strong President.

“Shep on FOX took it to him, Played the bar joke, had a discussion of “severely conservative”/ridiculed him for it.”

That’s rich coming from Shep of all people - he ridicules true conservatives (he just tries to stifle it on FNC - somewhat). But I getcha. I was determined to find somewhere where I could listen to many of the CPAC speakers but had no interest in hearing Mitt’s lies. Ironically, when I was channel surfing, I caught that little snippet of his speech and couldn’t believe my ears - “severely conservative”! What???

He looked and sounded like he was ordering the gullible, great unwashed to trust him. And then we have former conservative icons like Krauthammer constantly saying that “he just hasn’t yet learned the language of this ideology he’s so lately come to”.

A pathetic, ugly picture.

If you haven’t heard it, listen to Andrew Breitbart’s short speech at CPAC. Not only does he reference some juicy videos he has that will force vetting of BHO, he gives some cautionary and wise advice for us all. It’s great (as always) and even worth a second look:

Romney was using an advertising trick...Remember years ago when coke got caught putting pictures subliminally within movie trailers.

Same thing he repeat the word conservative twenty five ( CNN said over thirty) in a twenty six minute speech...Nice try to brainwash people into connecting himself with the word conservative. By both stations pointing it out it will call attention to the technique and negate it effectiveness.

Is the MSM turning against Mitt. Must have gotten my emails about Tricia Erickson taking him down with her feather pen.

“He does have the power to fire every stinking assed Czar Obama put in place, to cancel every Executive order, to replace the a-holes at EPA with his own people and cancel the regulatory rules that are killing America. Cancel laws??? Ha Laws are not what are killing us,It’s the Czars and regulations.”

How true, how true. Geez, most of the laws we have, aren’t being followed now! Illegal aliens come to mind.

And as Progov said, everyone ought to think about the iconic Palin and her husband being for Newt (as well as many other true conservatives like Sowell and those in the black and white poster elsewhere on here). Astounding how many on here continue to be blinded by Santorum’s stance on pro-life (same as Newt’s, btw) to the exclusion of his greater big government, liberal voting record.

If we don’t get proven conservative warrior Newt, we’ll never defeat BHO and we can kiss this country goodbye.

My wise father has said for years that the UN should have never been located on our soil - too many incoming enemies getting diplomatic immunity, for one thing. And yes, it’s evil and we should’ve pulled out years ago.

Boehner’s trainable. I think his heart’s in the right place, he’s just stymied by BHO and the Senate. With a President like Newt, you’d see a different Boehner.

I’d send Noot more money, but every time I send a candidate money state-controlled media launches a fraudulent bimbo-torpedo at them.

“we can pray that someone smartens up, and we punt their worthless organization forever from our shores.”

Well, I know John Bolton has little use for it and he has nothing good to say about it, at least that I’ve ever heard. He knows it favors our enemies, despite our huge monetary support (and he should know, having been our ambassador to the UN). So with the right President and him as Sec. of State, we may see it happen one day. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.
