I'm an atheist.

And I am offended sufficiently by government intrusions on our freedoms, that I was and still am opposed to Obamacare in its entirety.

Unlike these bishops, who were just fine with it until a few weeks ago when one of its millions or new rules started to affect them personally.

Obama simply lied to them like he’s lying to them now.

And they actually took that man at his word??? Were they hypnotized by him, too?

It’s simple- it isn’t free and it won’t be “free” no matter what Odumbo says. They may say it’s free, but the cost will be passed on, as always.

I think there’s actually another agenda here. It’s no accident that Planned Parenthood is exulting over this, because it is essentially a backdoor enactment of the population control plan PP has gotten the US government to fund in foreign countries all over the world.

Mandating the provision of this “service,” free of charge (although indirectly paid for by all of us), means mandating a non-medical “service” directed at social ends. Contraception is not a medical service but a means of population control and a way of eliminating the family as the base unit of our social structure.

This has long been a goal of the progressives, and reproduction (and hence family) control is a feature of every Communist dictatorship because the goal is to reduce human beings to the status of nothing more than unattached, unindividualized worker bees in the vast hive of the state.

I read somewhere in the discussion of this that Planned Parenthood will be involved in providing this “access” to contraception, and I think you’re going to see more and more of their population and social control program imposed through this stealth route.

———(although indirectly paid for by all of us)-——

It is in reality a sex tax levied on the drug companies but like other such taxes is paid by consumers

They have finally figured out a way to tax sex

Actually, the bishops are for affordable health care for all.

Yes, and they are for open borders and the U.S. taxpayer subsidizing the invasion of illegal aliens.

They CHOSE to believe that Obamacare would provide "affordable" health care for everyone. They did not think through the process, the laws and every hidden clause in the bill the eventually gives the federal govt. complete control of our economy in ways we haven't seen.

The bishops, in my opinion, are complicit in Obama's take over of the country. They were too chicken to stand up to him before. Now, they want to present themselves as standing up for liberty and individual freedom. Far too little, too late.

This wasn’t written in the bill, this came out of Sebellious’s office. What else can she put by making a regulation?

Depends on what you understand by "written in the bill." I saw something in the past few days -- but can't find it now -- about someone who counted the number of times "as the Secretary shall determine" or some variant occurs in the ObamaCare bill. IIRC, it was maybe 500 or 600.

Even the parts of the bill I read when it was first passed stunned me with the amount that wasn't spelled out, but left to the "discretion" of the Secretary. How can you have a law that doesn't state outright what the law is? But we do.

The USSCB needs to do three things:

1) Find some testicles.

2) Formally announce that any Catholic Senator or Congress critter, Governor. or Priest, etc.... that supports this is automatically ex communicated and then publicly list each and every one of them

3) Publicly announce that any Catholic that has an Obozo bumper sticker or publicly supports this @$$ hat is automatically ex communicated and then remove any priest that allows them to receive communion.

> please tell me that life and freedom matter even to atheists.

They don’t.

The typical atheist hides behind “the quality of life” as his excuse for supporting things like abortion-murder, preemptive abortion (aka “birth control”), and euthanasia.

Next to salvation through Jesus Christ, God’s greatest promise to the living is, “I shall multiply thy seed.”

Next to eternity in Hell for rejecting Jesus, God’s greatest curse to the living is, “I shall cut-off your generations.”

The Left rejects the blessings and embraces the curses.

What I want to know is why aren’t the insurance companies - indeed all businesses - OUTRAGED at the president ordering a private business to provide a product or service for free?!

Because they know they will pass the cost on in the form of higher premiums to the rest of us. Make no mistake we will be paying for the abortions and contraceptives of everyone that uses them.

The insurance companies won't lose one red cent or one thin dime.

Doesn't all of this remind you of the story of the garden of Eden?

Adam is men
Eve is women
Abortion is the forbidden fruit
Obama is the serpent
The garden of Eden is our religious morals.

Except in this case we are voluntarily leaving the garden of Eden.

I ust watched Fox & FRiends and several of the phrases mentioned in the text were repeated almost word for word.

To state it in the vernacular, "That dog don't hunt."

Despite what President Obama said at his White House press conference, the actual regulations make permanent the “interim final regulations” issued August 3, 2011 — the ones that sparked the furor in the first place.

While everyone was focused on Obama's little word-games, .gov released regs yesterday afternoon...

If Justice Kennedy does not vote to strike down Obamacare, then there must be civil unrest.

The USCCB crawled into bed with obama on the health care issue and now they are waking up with flees. My bishop published a how to vote guide in our October 2008 bulletins. He wrote that Catholics should vote for those who understand that affordable health care is a basic human right and those who understand that no human being is illegal. There was no mention of those who understand that abortion is murder. I considered this my bishop campaigning for obama. How many parishioners took this into consideration when voting? Bishop Conlon sold our parish down the river.
