If the Catholic Church does not start excommunicate these politicians over this issue, then the Church is hopelessly lost and has succumbed to the darkness.

Agree completely, but don’t hold your breath. If they’ll give Ted Kennedy an “annulment” after 30+ years of marriage and continually provide communion to these evil abortion-supporting scum, they’ll turn a blind eye to this latest egregious slap in the face of the faithful. I guess the principle of “leading by example” is as outdated to the Catholic hierarchy as the Constitution and the rule of law are to the socialist-loving demonrat. Unbelievable...

I agree. Pelosi and her ilk are rotting the the church by poisoning the faith. The church leadership needs to rid their ranks of these heretics. You can’t claim you are a Catholic and then disagree with everything it stands for. Now the money question, does the church have the backbone to do this or will they compromise or rationalize the issue away.

I know it seems odd, but the Church doesn’t publicly excommonunicate on things like this. At best she’d be schooled by some bishop for her ignorance of Catholic policy. And, obviously, the Church can’t excommunicate for a crime against the Constitution, which is really the case here. No, this isn’t an easy one. A more likely excommunication would fall on a BISHOP or very vocal priest who deliberately misrepresented or decried the Church’s position on abortion (and birth control). The Church seldom disciplines lay people (particularly ignoramuses), no matter how powerful, with anything more than public acknowledgment of the layman’s error.

Actually, the best thing all these churches and organizations could do is run a ‘vote him out’ campaign.

Don't kid yourself. The Church has had decades to deal with the likes of T. Kennedy, N. Pelosi, J. Kerry, etc. Hell they wont even discipline the biggest asshole Catholic on the planet, Father Pfleger!

This is a lovers squabble; nothing more, nothing less! Move along . . .nothing to see here.
