“Potemkin Village Award”

That made me LOL...but switched quickly to tears of frustration.

Please tell me just what Santorum plans to do. I have listened to all his speeches, watched all the debates, and I still do not know what he intends to do.

I know about the manufacturing, just down his Union alley. I know about the tax rate being taken to 28%. Outside of that, he just speaks a good social conservative speak. I researched his record in the Senate...talk about going along to get along. Sorry, Santorum does not cut it with me or many here at FreeRepublic.

Don't get me wrong, he is slightly better than Romney, and I will vote for him if he is the last man standing. However, that charming face of his will not beat Obama, and we will be stuck with 4 more years of hell!

Don’t apologize to me, Newt’s my guy too, and by a wide margin over any others.

LOL...you could have inserted Newt’s name in place of Santorum and I would agree with you 100%. I’ve researched Newt’s leadership in the House, but primarily what he’s done since during and since...I find his epic “mistakes” rather disturbing, given someone who was among the leadership during Reagan’s presidency.

Beyond gutting the spending spree that has engulfed Washington D.C. under the DUmocrats, Santorum has stated that taxes on our nation’s producers should be ZERO, cutting capital gains and allowing businesses to compete with the Chinese slave labor prices in order to bring back manufacturing. That’s just for starters. He’ll reduce government spending through ACROSS-THE-BOARD cuts instead of reducing the rate of growth, while reducing federal budgets year after year.

He can beat Obummer by drawing stark contrasts to his own record vs. ceding the ground to O’Jackass on many issues presently confronting us all. Romney and Newt cannot do that since they each have plenty of examples of their “reach-across” adoption of many DUmocrat-promoted plans.

Newt’s CPAC speech made many promises he’ll never be able to deliver given the current senate majority, but I believe Santorum’s plan will go much furhter in the long-term by reducing the size and encroachment ability of our present government rather than making empty campaign promises never to be delivered.

My husband, an Independent, btw, was listening to a clip of the speech, and said he didn’t realize how firey Santorum was (although he always liked him).

One of the things people have always mistaken him for as someone that's not fiery.

Working on yanking the Michigan rug out from under Mitt.
______________________________________________________________

Thank you, cripplecreek, for your efforts and work you are doing. That would be a devastating blow to Mitt’s campaign. Back in the ‘80s, when I lived in MI, I was GOP District Chair of one of the most Liberal Congressional Districts, at that time, in MI. But, there was strong Conservative presence back then. I hope it’s still there. And, I hope that the younger GOP voters have never heard of George Romney. The fact that his dad was Guv of Michigan does not carry the weight it would have years ago. George has not been the Governor since the ‘60s.

Romney will not be our candidate, and neither will Santorum.

Are you one of those of the opinion that it will end up being a “Brokered Convention” and a new face will arise and come out of it as the nominee; like Paul Ryan or Mitch Daniels?

Hell no...Mr. Newt will be our next President. I feel it in my bones and in my heart! God is listening to our prayers.

EAGLES UP MR. NEWT! GOD BLESS him for having the courage to stand up to what the republican establishment and Romney are doing to him.

The midwest is the most active political fault zone these days. Even here in Michigan we're beating up on the unions and doing it with a very reluctant bunch of RINOs in Lansing. Fortunately we now have a conservative UAW group growing in influence and even testifying against union political activities in congress last week.

UAW Member: Union Workers 'Need to Embrace' Right-to-Work Laws

Bowman testified on Capitol hill last week.

The iron is hot and conservatives need to wake up and recognize that Santorum is the one candidate who seems able to challenge Romney outside the south. I don't want Gingrich to get out of the race, I want him to keep hammering Romney in the south.
