At a press event on the payroll tax cut yesterday, President Obama mentioned how extending the proposal would help Americans pay for gas as the price increases.
Obama attributed the growing price of oil to a strengthening economy which in turn means demand for oil increases.
"And when gas prices are on the rise again because as the economy strengthens, global demand for oil increases. And if we start seeing significant increases in gas prices, losing that $40 could not come at a worse time," Obama said.

What an idiot. I clearly hope the majority of people living in this country today are not dumb enough to re-elect this fool. It’s common sense that our dollar is falling in value and oil is climbing. This is a double-whammy.
The media will report this as fact. The people don’t have the critical thinking skills to question it. Our collective memory doesn’t seem to extend far enough back to remember the outrage at $2.50/gallon gas during the Bush years.
Gas is headed to $5/gallon. Obama and his energy secretary are pleased, and the people? I’m absolutely stunned by just how stupid my fellow Americans have become.

And this is a sign of a strengthening economy? (More like an increasingly worthless dollar).
So when gasoline hits 7-8 dollars per gallon, our economy will simply be smoking, won't it?
Well hells bells. Let’s get gasoline to 50 dollars a gallon and REALLY strengthen the economy.

The administration has announced that coming soon, regulations for fracking.
He’s delusional. Rising gas prices kill the economy. Drill here, drill now and start the darn pipeline from Canada! Did he take notice that the gas prices are rising ever since he killed the pipeline deal?
Then let's get it up,to $10 a gallon so the economy can take off like a rocket.............

You can’t fix stupid. I try every day to explain the role of a declining dollar. But, many believe it’s Big Business that is running up prices.

How about scarcity?
How about fears of war in the middle east and Iran?
How about instability in Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Iran, Iraq
How about reassurance in OPEC the US is not gonna drill and challenge their price monopoly?
How about Iran not selling oil to europe and forcing them to buy elsewhere in the market?
How about EPA regulations?

Don’t forget that unemployment payments also spur the economy.
Combining the two, you can see that we are prospering. In fact, we’ve never been better off.
If that is true, then we can also expect a rise in interest rates, which will drive our debt servicing costs thru the roof.
