The front of the GOP pack will be absent at the March 1 debate in Atlanta sponsored by CNN and the Georgia Republican Party, CBS News/National Journal has learned. The Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum campaigns said they have decided to skip the debate, throwing into question whether it will happen as planned. "With eight other states voting on March 6, we will be campaigning in other parts of the country and unable to schedule the CNN Georgia debate," Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said. "We have participated in 20 debates, including eight from CNN." The 20 debates include one scheduled for Feb. 22 in Mesa, Ariz.

Romney is too cowardly to compete in a debate if he isn’t allowed to stack the crowd. The AZ GOP let him buy up all the tickets. Obviously, the GA GOP didn’t.
I am a Newt supporter, but if Rick was still the leading ABR candidate when I voted in the KS caucus on Mar 10, I was strongly leaning towards casting my vote for him. Now I will be for sure casting my vote for Newt.
It looks like there is still one on 2/22 in Mesa. So if Newt can resurrect his campaign with a magic debate, he’ll have his chance.
They are not going to give Newt that much of a home field advantage. He could walk out on stage in Georgia, break wind, and get a 30 minute standing ovation there.

Well, maybe they are just tired of EVERY debate being run by “Media Matters” -—

Santorum is a very lucky opportunist. He’s been the beneficiary of Romney’s $18 Million smearing of Newt Gingrich.
Newt should be glad, they are using the debates to further neuter him. His last two were debacles.
Everyone might as well write off Texas since we don’t get a voice until May 29 - maybe.

Newt fans should be glad, after the last two debates it would be a shame to keep failing at the only thing you had going for you. LOL

Little Ricky: Debate against you and Romney? No, I will run and hide, and I will live.
Newt: Aye, debate and you may die, Little Rickey, run away, and you’ll live...at least a while until your poll numbers die and you are exposed as the latest flavor of the month.
This tells me a lot about Romney and Santorum. If either gets the nomination will they slither away from debates with Obama?
As if anyone would voluntarily debate Newt.
