So, provided the debate isn’t cancelled, it would just Gingrich and Ron Paul?
That would be interesting.

This reminds me how Newt was going to ‘debate’ Trump at the end of the year and then Trump called it off.

Maybe they’ll have a real debate for a change.

Not if CBS/National Journal runs it like they did last time, where you had to log onto the internet to watch the last 30 minutes. One of the poorest (and dumbest) debate formats ever.

Obviously, the whole idea is to get the debate cancelled and stifle Gingrich from starring in his own backyard. Anyone who still thinks santorum and romney are not in cahoots needs to look at this long and hard.
It could backfire if the debate goes on, however, with Paul serving as a congenial and humorous foil for a nationally broadcast Newt infomercial.

It should happen more often. Can anyone name a moderator which CNN has ever used who wasn't a far lefty?

Good we should have cut down on 20 debates and done them with conservative outlets not MSNBC, CNN and Fox.

New game?
Refuse to debate to keep Newt Gingrich from showing them up, i.e. REBOUNDING?
Too cute by half. COWARDS AND OPPORTUNISTS BOTH.
The name of this primary: SHUT DOWN NEWT GINGRICH!

I think we have gone over the issues and the candidates positions already till they are blue in the face. What can possibly be learned in another one that hasn’t already been ferreted out of them? The MSM is looking to “gotcha” the candidates to make soundbites for Regime commercials now, a la George Snuffleupagus and contraceptives. Enough Lamestream run debates already.

thank goodness, there’s been enough debates lets just decide this now while a not Romney is clearly in the lead.
To: onyx
Yup.
Now that Santorum feels he is finally ahead, he has no need for answering questions. Watch for this to change quickly if Romney attacks start to weken Rick.
“Just one of us,” eh Rick?
No questions! Mr. Santorum is far too busy for you all!

Only one million have voted, and these cowards can’t risk letting voters see Newt Gingrich in his best forum.
At this point, I won’t vote for either.
GO NEWT!!!

I absolutely agree, cancel ALL the remaining debates. I am starting to feel pretty confident that Santorum has the locked up (which I can live with)
But... my ONE worry is that debate before Michigan... If Newt were to do well there and re-re-resurg... it would only ensure Romney won both Arizona and Michigan and had all the momentum heading into Super Tuesday with conservatives once more divided.
Forget that! I want to end the Romney campaign once and for all!

It could backfire if the debate goes on, however, with Paul serving as a congenial and humorous foil for a nationally broadcast Newt infomercial. Put that way, I just might have to watch...Newt vs. Ron Paul in a debate? Ron Paul's stammering and crazy uncle demeanor as he shouts "federal reserve" and "no more war" over and over against Newt's intellectual arguments could be quite fun to watch.
