(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) - An unarmed Arizona grandfather was blasted in the head this week by a police officer who killed the man because he "thought" he had a weapon. This was the particular officer's sixth fatal shooting in the line of duty, it happened Tuesday night in Scottsdale, "There were at least three officers in position to engage the suspect. At least one of the officers thought he saw something in the suspect's hands," Scottsdale Police Sgt. Mark Clark told Arizona's KPNX.

Why is it a lie? The cops were there because the man was carrying a gun and a baby. The danger that he would go for his gun again is logical.

If the baby had died, people would call the cop a coward.

Can you remember the last time you saw a cop smile and say Hello??

Yesterday, twice; once in the car at a stop light, once while running on the boardwalk.

I’ll bet Mr. King won’t publish my comments. Most of the articles on their home page have no comments. I wonder why.

I don’t withhold anymore. The cops have adopted an obscene paradigm that is 180 degrees out of phase with Mayberry. Imagine a private citizen engaging another private citizen in the same way that cops do indiscriminately. A cop has no more right to initiate lethal force than I do. I suspect that if a neighbor had taken similar action because he “thought” the baby was in danger and he “believed” that the perp had a gun he would be arrested, tried, and convicted. Cops are using deadly force more and more even if the justification is threadbare.

“No, not a trigger happy cop ... Sounds like a cold-blooded serial murderer who hides behind a badge.”

There is entirely too much of this use of firearms by the cops seemingly without justification. My take on it is if it is not stopped, we will start to see vigilante justice come back with the citizens killing the offending officers.

Nice shooting, officer. Thank you for putting this dangerous scumbag down like the rabid dog that he was. I’m sure the neighbors are relieved to have this deadly threat removed from their neighborhood at last.

Yes I can, About 2 hours ago at a 7-11. He even held the door open for me.

I’d be courious to know when was the last time YOU smiled and said hello to a cop?

What was not mentioned here is that the guy who was shot was blind stinking drunk and had a revolver that he pointed at his neighbors and threatened to shoot them.

How do you square that with "Detectives found no weapon on Loxas following the shooting" ?

A second officer said Loxas was holding something that could be considered a weapon.

“There’s a lot of factors that go into the decision to shoot — certainly the presence of a weapon is one of the, or the perceived presence of a weapon,” said Clark.

A loaded pistol, shotgun and improvised explosive device were found inside the home, police said.

The device contained black powder and ball bearings and was safely diffused by police.

The phrase, “I thought he was going for his gun”, when there is no gun in sight, is a standard excuse for the inexcusable.

SWAT are supposed to be trained NOT to over react in high stress situations.

They are also trained to have both eyes open when using a scope.

The clown with the baby was likely angry and spouting off, and this is what the cop reacted to. If he was making threats and headed back inside, the shot may have been the correct tactical call. It may be tough to defend legally.

Bingo....I always tell me kids to smile and wave to cops, and almost every single time, they have smiled and waved right back at them.

My point is this: Why do you believe the article? The media has an interest in creating anarchy so that America can have it's own “Arab Spring”.

You know they are trying to destroy Arizona and especially Maricopa County where Arpaio is.

Anytime the media wants us to be angry, we should refuse to get emotional. That's all I'm trying to point out.

Can you remember the last time you saw a cop smile and say Hello??

Why yes, I can. It was last July in Arkansas.
Just after I walked out of the restaurant behind him and said, "Good evening, Officer."

A lot of times you get what you give.

Thanks for the aditl info.Still from all the info,it seems this one particular cop is pretty trigger happy. That along with endless stories of cops shooting family pets,I have to conclude a lot of officers are getting brazen with the use of force. And that may one day come back on them. Not that I sanction violence, but when those who are supposed to protect and serve wind up oppressing, the citizenry will no doubt bring that oppression to a swift and abrupt halt.

Don't get me wrong. There are many, many good people serving the communities as LEO’s,I've met many over the course of my life.Having said that, there are many more Barney Fifes out there as well who need to be reigned in before the citizenry is forced out of necessity to do so.

“In addition, police found at least eight “Airsoft” type rifles and pistols”

OH MY GOD!!! HE HAD AIRSOFT ASSAULT RIFLES AND HANDGUNS???

Yep, with that kind of arsenal he clearly needed to be killed.

Last week at a LEO’s birthday party. In neighborhood of 20 from all ranks. They (FYI) can all drink me under the table.

Fact: The police have no Constitutional right to protect you.
There are two sets of rules of law for you and them.
They wear weapons to protect themselves not you .
They arrive in minutes when seconds count.
Most frown on law abiding citizens owning firearms.
