Good one!
Good one!
Of course it is all BS but the 'rat's strategy against Santorum is already set: he is a crackpot religious extremist who wants to make War Against Women, take away their rights and their healthcare and their freedom of choice.
It is a fight we shouldn't have to fight, and wouldn't, if we didn't have a candidate who goes out of his way to raise personal agendas about what should be nonissues, into issues.
Mark my words, as long as Santorum is on the playing field we will be besieged with crap about "contraception" and "women's rights" and related rubbish, while the real issue, obama, surfs along untouched and unquestioned.
Bad idea. Very bad idea.
Libs are always angry with no sense of humor.
Pray for America
>>>>geez, ann landers used that old joke 30 years ago<<<<
Exactly right. I remember the joke from junior high school - when LBJ was president.
It is times like this that I truely despise the left and the media.
I used to weak liberals in arguing against aid for dependent children. The liberals seemed to think that the welfare recipients either could help having babies, or couldn’t afford birth control. I told them that birth control is cheap. In fact it costs only a nickel. If the nickel is kept firmly between the knees, it works every time.
Their response was even more fun to watch than Andrea Mitchel’s.
Kinda like the hysteria of David Brock having armed guards around him because he is deathly afraid radical tea party people and/or other rightists were trying to kill him. If these rats only knew how stupid they are. It’s really very sad.
That's liberalism in a nutshell.
I think I heard my grandmother tell that joke first. Or someone else who was quoting my grandmother. Mock outrage is ill-becoming.
Just so long as it wasn't a carrot or a cucumber... :^D
I agree totally. You know the first time I saw this issue come up? It wasn’t made a big deal of, and the consequences were much smaller, but when Alan Keyes ran against Barack Obama for the Senate in 2004, I saw Keyes holding forth on the virtues of the “rhythm method.” And I thought, as many people as he, or any candidate, might draw to himself on the abortion issue, he’ll lose just as many or more by adding in contraception.
I am not Catholic. I understand and respect the Catholic position on this. But there should not be even the faintest hint that anti-contraception should become part of public policy, except that Catholic organizations should be exempt from supporting practices that conflict with their religious teachings. I think most thinking people should be able to accept that idea without any fear that it is going to affect everyone. I’m taking for granted that there are still enough thinking people out there to make a difference, and not be led by the nose by demagoguery from either side.
I’m sure I heard this same joke as a teen in the 1960’s with “book” substituted for “aspirin”. Would seem to me to be more acceptable.
I remember hearing the “balancing an aspirin between the knees” joke from Ann Landers years ago too.
Boooooo.
Greta Van Stupid needs to go to the Planned Parenthood website...Check it out...See if there is anything socially redeemeing about that nonsense...Rush is right on the mark about this...
What is great about abortion, it really defines WHO you can count on, and who you connot count on...
No one was isulted or offended by the oval office shinanigans by Bill Clinton, or JFK for that matter...So I say throw this BS right back in their snobbish faces...
And you don’t need to be a bible thumpin’ moral highground type person to know that abortion is wrong...
Pr-Choice to me means you made a choice to go out with the intentions of hooking up with someone for a moments sexual gratification, unprotected and boom, guess what...You concieved a life...
Now you have to choose to be a responsible person and take care of that life YOU TWO created...YOU CHOOSE to do a grown up thing and now you have to live with the consequences of that choice!!!
Of course the left doesn’t want to you live with those choices you made, because an unwanted pregnancy is just a mistake, its ok, out of sight and out of mind...Its the easy path for liberal progressives...
Ithink we still need to repeal Roe vs. Wade and give the choice back to the states and let us figure out if we are going to support irresponsible behavour or not...
I think it would be great...You’d see a great migration out of the conservative pro-life states to regions and states that will let you kill a life you created and thats on them, not us...
But that’s just my opinion...
Personally, I would have recommended Trunk Monkey - Chaperone Version.

I admit to being obsessed with sects.
Oh, good grief. (I tried to get on Rush’s show today to say this, but no go.)
The first time I heard about the aspirin-between-the-knees deal was when I read Ann Landers in our family-friendly, hometown newspaper in the late 60s. She and Dear Abby used that bit of tongue-in-cheek advice frequently.
I *know that Andrea Mitchell is old enough to remember this. What a disingenuous fake.
