You're right. The headline doesn't match the direct quotes from Rush. I listened to his show yesterday, and NewsMax has grossly mischaracterized what Rush said. He said it appears that Romney might be regaining ground in MI, for one. And, he said IF Romney should fail in MI, there is a possibility that Newt could reemerge.
Rush said that towards the end of the show, after spending a whole lot of air time the previous two hours singing the praises of Santorum and not mentioning Newt even once.
I say this as a committed supporter of Newt Gingrich, and it brings me no joy. For whatever reasons, Rush isn't fond of Newt Gingrich, though he definitely prefers him to Romney. On the other hand, Rush likes Santorum as a candidate quite a lot.
