What's with the trans-vaginal ultrasounds. Totally unnessecary and painful. Why not a standard abdominal ultrasound. This is ridiculous and makes the pro life movement look stupid.

A trans-vaginal ultrasound is not painful. They give a better picture, altho I do not know the pros and cons of both for this particular use.

Abdominal ultrasounds are usually not very useful until the baby is through the first trimester. PP already knows that.
