President Barack Obama is reaping political benefits from the country's brighter economic mood. A new poll shows that Republicans and Democrats alike are increasingly saying the nation is heading in the right direction and most independents now approve the way he's addressing the nation's post-recession period. But trouble could be ahead: Still-struggling Americans are fretting over rising gasoline prices. Just weeks before the summer travel season begins, the Associated Press-GfK survey finds pump prices rising in importance and most people unhappy with how Democratic president has handled the issue. It's seemingly no coincidence that Obama this week is promoting the expansion of domestic oil and gas exploration and the development of new forms of energy. It's his latest attempt to show that he, more than any of the Republican presidential contenders, knows that voters' pocketbooks remain pinched even as the economy improves overall. And on that question of empathy, solid majorities continue to view him as someone who "understands the problems of ordinary Americans" and "cares about people like you," the AP-GfK survey found.

Who’s taking this poll and what drugs are they on?
Associated Press.
What improved economy?
They keep doing this because conservatives and conservative candidates will not call them out aggressively for the lie that “the economy is improving” is.
Yeah, the economy and Obama are doing great!
the economy is headed into the dumper with less velocity because the house republicans have put a damper on his perverse determination to squash out free markets.
an undeniable fact: he has not been able to “comprehensively reform” (i.e., totally destroy and remake in his image) anything since the midterms.
Same thing Clinton did in 1996. Don’t actually improve the economy, just crook the Goverment’s books to manufacture the fake illusion of progress.
How many times are the sheep like American voters going to fall for this same corrupt shell game?
Ah, good old Laurie Kellman, Odumbo’s most reliable print media stooge.
The manufactured one.
Ass.Pimps: the Democrats’ private sector press secretary.
Pollaganda. Get used to it. The presstitutes will be shoveling a whole lot of sh*t in the coming months. A lot.
Despite all the blatantly egregious conditions and acts by this regime, the MSM will go full throttle with so much more of this bald-faced bullsh!t.
A$$hole Press for the commander in a$$hole.

Improving economy where?? They just extended the unemployment benefits....again...and they’re scre*ing with the SS system with the 2% “shortage”...and our debt is out of sight...
Gas at $4 bucks a gallon. Yup, things are looking up!(s.)
It`s looking like Obama is getting to the point all he has to do now is avoid major mistakes (at least any that his “media” can`t contain) and shore up his standing with special interest groups the rest of the way, like Clinton did. The GOP is handling all the dirty work of internal character assassination work for him.
As gas prices increase, the “media” will relay the directive to the obedient sheeple that they are to believe this is the result of collusion between the evil oil companies and the GOP. They`ll be told to think that a GOP-Big Oil conspiracy has been unhatched to derail all of Lord 0bama`s wonderful progress that`s been made toward a fairer system for all.. and the sheeple will lap that up like puppies on spilled milk.
I personally thank obama every time I fill up at the gas pump, I am sure millions of others do also
Last week I watched some CNN info-babe praising $5/gal gas as a good thing because it means the economy is improving
Dear MEdia, do not think you and the messiah can piss on our legs and tell us to rejoice because it is finally raining
